If we don't make a BIG SPLASH hire - Dec 25, 2023 BDS will be all red. Season ticket sales will be half of this year.

I’m not sure if anyone’s going to be at Bobby Dodd on Christmas Day. Maybe a Security Guard making rounds every couple hours, but don’t they normally wear dark colors like black or navy?

ACC sucks and I think our team has more raw talent than our record shows. Combine that with with the transfer portal and the right hire could take us to a bowl in season one.

I agree that we have more talent then our record indicates, but I don’t believe Geoff met any expectations around talent that he ensured us from day 1. You could make an argument that our best player on offense and defense were PJ recruits. I think we want to believe the roster has improved but I genuinely don’t believe it has. Again, we should be better then the record indicates but I also believe we need major upgrades on the coaching staff and the roster.

One year if you choose Deion. Could take 3 years if you go with a safer coach like the guy at Coastal or if you could poach Wake's coach (for examples). The difference is not that Deion is a better coach, just that it would take longer for normal coach that wins via coaching to do that while a "Jimmy and Joes" coach has zero restrictions on loading up on ballers in year one. Who reaches a higher peak at the end of the rebuild is simply unknowable. Pure speculation.

And by rebuild I mean bowl. Not suck.
I fully agree with this. You keep hearing with the portal you can get players faster. Nobody will do it faster than Deion. What he can do with them is the million dollar question but I am all for finding out.

What constitutes "recovered"? Bowl game?

A really good coach could get the team there this year. It would be an impressive feat and I certainly don't expect it, but this team has some talent on it, and should be able to beat most of the ACC. Unfortunately we already blew one of the most winnable games this past weekend.

An above average coach should absolutely have 6+ wins next year.
Recovered, to me, means 6 wins.

We're going bowling this year. Key will unlock our true potential of our talent.

Depends on the hire. If we hire Deion, we will be able to get transfers that will make us immediately competitive for the acc crown. That is not a joke. He will be too late to pull a too 10 HS recruiting class, but we will pull 10 of the top 15 transfers.

Talent composite index we're already around 30. I don't think it's really capturing the value of transfers (I think it's overestimating), but it's the best metric available and should be an indicator that average coaching gets us to 7 wins year 1. Transfer portal can turn over any roster burdens quickly. I think Key wins 2-4 more this year which might put us in a position where we regret not getting Collins out before the UCF game because that was winnable. S&C will surely focus on debulking our guys and getting better strength to mass ratio so they can be athletes not body builders. That will be the longest transition, but even then probably achievable enough in one off-season given the starting point.

We’ll have to see what the new guy has left post-Spring and whatever version of Junction Boys one can get away with in 2023.

  • CPJ beat UGA in year 1 after 7 straight losses.
  • Bobby Ross won a national title 3 years after B*** C****.
  • Deion took JSU from obscurity to prominence in 1.5 seasons.
We don't need to wait 3-4 years to expect results. Cupboards no longer matter in the Era of the portal and NIL. Recruiting to win now and strong coaching is all there is.
