With the season under way, are the recruits warming up to Johnson's O? There were 13 pass plays to 33 rush plays in the BC game.

What affect has the first two games of the season had on our recruiting?

This comment is why early commits are so important:

Patterson says he’ll attend at least one other game at Bobby Dodd Stadium this fall with friend Roderick Sweeting of Luella, who has committed to the Jackets.

Landing Patterson will be tough. But if we do, it would be a HUGE get because he plays on the same team as Markeith Ambles. Now that kid is a stud.

He called us a powerhouse? O.o

Sorry but what a stupid statement. Tech has 4 national championships and is ranked in the Top 25 teams all time of all teams in the NCAA.

My guess is you are a dog or don't understand that not everyone is USC or Georgia Tech during their best periods.

We're a historical powerhouse, but I don't think we strike fear into opponents like a "powerhouse" of today, such as USC or LSU. Yet, we've got a good chance of doing so after PJ wins a few more games.

Really?

I wish we were a powerhouse (Oh St, USC, Fla,)

I would play Ohio State every single day of the year and we'd win half the time. Would that make us a powerhouse in your mind?

Tech holds the all time win record over Florida head to head, and by a big margin. Now if you want to say "but today..." then I would argue "how do you define "today" or any period.

A few years ago USC absolutely stunk. Not that long ago, Florida absolutely stunk.

In my opinion, powerhouses are not determined by a season or even a season of seasons but by remaining competitive over a very long haul. Tech is in the Top 25% of all football teams and that makes them a powerhouse.

Add in that football recruits may look to the very top of Division 1 (and I know well right now about college recruiting), the vast vast majority of kid don't get to play for a TOP 25 team in D1 ball. When you add in all the Div 1AA, Div 2 and Div 3 footbal teams, Tech stands out as a powerhouse.

Why as a Tech fan someone would cut their own team short still amazes me. Stop buying what the SEC media is selling.

Very good post. Completely agree! Also another point to add (from another thread): GT has had 3 Head Coaches win 100 games or more: Heisman, Alexander, & Dodd. Not many programs can claim that.

Okay, you caught me. I've secretly been a UGA fan all this time. I'm sorry everyone and I'm leaving this board for good.

I was talking about NOW... Can you even compare a 7 win team to USC, OSU, or even UGA? No. If we're a powerhouse, what does that make Alabama and Notre Dame?

A juggernaut is current, a powerhouse is historical. IMO

For example: GT is not a juggernaut, but is a powerhouse...Oregon is a juggernaut, but is not a powerhouse.

According to your theory, Rutgers, Kansas and Missouri are POWERHOUSES! Add in Connecticut, another POWERHOUSE! Don't forget HAWAII. POWERHOUSE. ILLINOIS, big time POWERHOUSE.

This year's POWERHOUSES: BYU, FRESNO STATE, SOUTH FLORIDA (WOW), WAKE FOREST.

Oops, Tenn lost, it's not going to be a powerhouse any more.

Sorry, but I am just sick of our supposed fans drinking the SEC and ESPN water.

Jesus. No we wouldn't. Come on guys, there's being a fan and then there's seeing the world through such rose colored glasses that you set yourself up to be disappointed. It does no good to you or the program to say that right now you'd expect to beat tOSU half of the time. All it does it make you look like someone who doesn't know what they're talking about, which, by the amount of research you've done, is obviously not true.

This is fine, however...

You realize a combination of these two definitions makes UGA an academic juggernaut right? Is it really worth such broadly defined terms if this is the result?

Georgia Tech is not currently a football powerhouse.

Other than that, I don't know what the crap you guys are arguing about.
