Refs did the right thing

I was also wondering if this may have been thrown after he was rolling around, which would be BS. It is unfortunate that the replays don't show the flag.

However, I would not take the announcers' timing as proof of anything, because they were terrible the entire game, as was the production in general -- didn't even get the yellow first down line working until halfway through the third.

Still frame is misleading. Sure he had to be "on top" of him the way the hit was made. It was not the type of piledriver landing that gets called in the NFL. You can see he is cushioning the blow with his arms.

This call in the NFL was similar and just as bad.

Well now you've gone from "he didn't land on top of him" to "sure he landed on top of him, but it wasn't enough for a flag."

For what it's worth, I agree it was an iffy call at best and I would not have thrown the flag. But it did at least have a basis in reality, because he did come down right on top of him (and yes, I watched the replay, that's where I got the still frame from.)

I have seen worse calls, even in this game -- e.g. the no flag when one of our receivers was being held for like two seconds.
