Remainder of season…

QB & WR are fine but i dont see any improvement in the D. Getting to 5 wins will be difficult, esp with this D and dismal PK.
Lather, rinse, repeat for 2024 until I see a tangible reason to think otherwise. These are the same glaring weaknesses we've had for the past decade.
LB is a huge drop off from last year. It’s not a knock on the guys this year but our guys last year were mature and really good on the college level. DL is better 4/4 but no real stud. OL is still a guess. They did some good and some boneheaded things. They weren’t as overmatched as said. They just weren’t ready for who they were playing. I don’t leg Key as a guy who underprepared his team. I think they just need more time. Also, we could use some upgrades.

The defense was always going to be worse than last year with what we lost. Question will be how much so and will the offense ever be able to pick up the slack?

@MoverofFridge2

Why do you reply mostly to your threads? Are the threads we normal people not worthy? We just need more of you man. Step up your game and be like the rest of us hobos.

I haven’t realized that Krazie. I don’t post a whole lot to begin with. I will try to be a better hobo and post more. I assure you I respect everyones opinion here. I may not agree but I respect what all have to say.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

We love you bro. We appreciate you being here and your contributions.

We definitely miss the two LB’s from last year, but I think overall we can be better this year. You have to remember, there were times last year we were not very good even after the other coach was fired.

Ol takes time to build. The previous guy kept plugging them via the portal as if this were Madden.

I agree with this. OL is also a mindset in my opinion as I have mentioned previously. You just have to have a desire to come off the ball and knock the piss outta somebody.
I think Key saw an opportunity to grow that mindset on Friday and it just failed. He asked the O Line to win the game for the team and they couldn’t do it. In the Second Quarter and at other times they looked decent. So it can come together they just weren’t ready yet.

Again, work in progress. Give it time. We may be surprised how stout that Louisville front 7 turns out to be. This O just put 34 points in them and missed kicks for 6-9 more points.

QB play was good.
WR play was good.
RB play was decent.
TE play was pretty good.
OL play was both pretty good and not so good.
Overall pretty good, but work is needed.

Did we really come out conservative in the 3rd quarter? Some of you guys just make up statements to fit your narrative. Our first second half drive was 3 passes and out/punt. It was our worst possession of the game.
Maybe it was just my imagination, but it seemed we ran a lot of first and second down plays between the tackles gaining perhaps 0-2 yds per carry on several second half series resulting in 3rd and passing downs. Perhaps I was mistaken.

That's the way I and most fans I personally know saw it too.

All pass plays the first drive. All run plays the second. Third drive was the missed FG.

It's the first darn game in a new system, y'all. Remember early the first year in CPJ's system?
Probably not the best example. My first memory of that era was beating Miss St like 100 to 0 and running for a zillion yards. But your point is valid nonetheless - L'Ville was maybe tougher than at least the fans thought. I thought their DL would be a sieve based on what I read coming into the game - oops. Now that the shock of losing a game I was pretty sure we would win has worn off, I'm glad we have a tune-up this Saturday before our next challenge at Ole' Miss. One thing I'm not worried about anymore is mental toughness. We are going to bring it against Kiffen's boys.

I still have PTSD over our last game against Ole Miss - no need to rehash. This game will not look like that one.

Agreed. We don’t have that individual right now. We ran a couple of stunts and blitz packages, but I think to be successful we will need to blitz probably 30% of the time. Problem with that is you leave gaps and become vulnerable so you dang well be proficient when you blitz.

As well as have very good tacklers on the backend.

So the Louisville off-season psy-ops (misinformation) program worked.
