Not really. You only remember the ones who pan out. You forget the 10 or so FCS-level recruits that Gailey signed every February.I will say that Gailey was extraordinary at recognizing talent, despite what many claim
We have more than that now.Not really. You only remember the ones who pan out. You forget the 10 or so FCS-level recruits that Gailey signed every February.
Remember when Rule #1 was enforced?
Not even coit is that old!Remember going to Orange Bowls before 2009?
The team we were playing punted

Remember when we had big name running backs? Players like William Bell, Tashard Choice, and PJ Daniels? Yes, CPJ had Dwyer, but I'd argue that Dwyer would have been even more prolific in a pro style offense. Side note - Dwyer, Choice, and Daniels were recruited by Chan.
Remember when we used to have Tight Ends? They still use those in the NFL and at perennial top performing collegiate programs.
Remember when our O-linemen didn't flail on the ground?
Remember when our defense could defend the pass? We've been going through defensive coordinators like a newborn goes through diapers. Maybe it isn't the defensive coordinator or the defensive scheme. Maybe, just maybe it's the fact that they have to practice against a run-heavy, highly unique, option-centric offense.
Remember when GT was well known for having solid defensive players? What happened? See above. Maybe the top tier defensive players don't want to practice against the option or oompa loompas trying to simulate a pro-style offense.
Remember when we had the wolf? Let's just forget about that öööö right now ... holy crap ... almost puked myself for a second there.
Remember when our QBs could pass? Remember Goose, Joe Ham, Shawn Jones? Feels like an eon ago. Speaking of QBs, it may seem ironic that Nesbitt, a QB recruited for a pro style offense, was one of the best QBs in the CPJ era, but then it makes sense when we recall that Nesbitt played behind pro-style O-linemen who hadn't yet perfected the art of flailing on the ground.
Remember when #5 looked lightning fast, would juke players all day, and would outrun DBs? What happened? I feel like our players tend to degrade instead of develop. It's almost as if the advice they received from their HS coaches was better than what they're getting with the PJ coaching staff.
Disclaimer: I think we should keep PJ for at least another year for financial reasons, but I'm still going to daydream about the days when we had a solid defense, didn't have oompa loompas at our skill positions, and didn't have our big uglies flailing around on the ground.
actually, yes.Remember going to Orange Bowls before 2009?
Possibly?Enforcement is arbitrary and possibly racist.
Possibly?
We also had a run of some great LBs - some NFL level talent, that we miss now imo
Wheeler (nfl), Guyton (nfl), Barnes, KaMichael Hall, Gerris Wilkinson (nfl)
I pledge to only ban white peopleIf elected moderator, do you pledge to stop this injustice?
now it seems the more talented athletes are brought in for the offensive side of the ball, rather than for the defense as may have been under other coaches. just my opinion.
all that talent and won 7 games a yearAs the same time we had calvin, choice, daniels all nfl level players. A couple of future nfl OL too. A couple of future nfl DBs too iirc
Yes. And the Citrus Bowl was bigger in 1990.Remember going to Orange Bowls before 2009?
