As for Ezzard, he was on the bench during the entire Pitt game. And when I say on the bench, I mean literally, sitting on the bench for the entire game.
Pretty sure he was our starting slot every game he was healthyBrown left because he couldn't get on the field here as a sophomore.
If true, best of luck to the young man.
I feel bad for him, but not because of the football part. Very few HS players go on to be stars at the college level. You have to really stand out at the college level to have any hope of making money playing FB. Apparently he thinks he can make it somewhere else. (or the school part was just too much) Historically speaking, if you can’t excel in GTs FB program, you’re never going to play professionally, but a GT degree will make you successful in life. So unless he didn’t think the degree was in the cards either…. I just feel bad for him. Best of luck.
In Brown's own words, he couldn't make the NFL playing for a team like GT and needed to transfer to an SEC school so he could make his dream of playing in the NFL happen. He knew this was always the path.Pretty sure he was our starting slot every game he was healthy

And apparently he never noticed where Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, or Darren Waller played CFB
Not really. On the other hand, öööö offCool story

Malik Rutherford, Nate McCollum and Jamal Haynes are just as fast, possibly McGowan, and all 4 have better route running and hands than Brown. Brown had straight line speed, but couldn't create separation unless he just beat somebody on a sprint. Folks figured that out after year 1 and he wasn't open nearly as much in year 2. He had a couple big drops too.Dude could stretch the field with his speed. Wish he didn't leave. Oh well. iiwii
FWIW, it's still unclear if he's just leaving the team, finishing his degree and then intends to transfer, or if he's just hanging up the cleats for good. All we know right now is that he has left the football team. It sounds like he is still in school. No clue where he is at in terms of progress towards his degree.Brown was awesome for us then left when the freshman QB missed him several times last year.
Didn’t show much patience and now he’s stuck at USCe. It was clearly a stupid decision but we all make bad choices in college.
And since this thread is about Ezzard….I was disappointed we didn’t see more of him at PR. He’s leaving because he’s not seeing the field AT ALL. Unlike Brown…I Don’t blame him for this choice.
While you’re correct and I share some of the disdain for his decision, do we really want to call the kid out like that? After all while he was here he was a good teammate and player.

True. Until otherwise indicated, I will cross my fingers that Ezzard completes his degree and uses that to have a successfup and happy life. I’m always proud of GT alum. Quitters, not so much.It hasn't been announced that he is in the portal, just that he left the football team. Even though he is a sophomore in terms of eligibility, this is his 4th year of college. Best not to speculate too much.

I hope he finishes his degree. It isn't a good look for transferring to another program not finishing the season. He may just be hanging it up and moving on with life with a GT degree in handFWIW, it's still unclear if he's just leaving the team, finishing his degree and then intends to transfer, or if he's just hanging up the cleats for good. Since when did Graham have better touch? He was all over the place with his throws.Graham had a better touch on the deep ball than Sims. Sims has a better touch on pretty much every other throw. Brown, due to his size, needs to get separation by using his speed. The problem being his speed was generally 20 yard speed and not burst speed. So if Brown wasn’t trying to round up low percentage deep balls, he was limited as a receiver. Our offense had to evolve beyond running or throwing the bomb. It just moved away from Brown’s skillset.
