Rumor is Renfree told Rad he would not come here....

Its safe to say Sean will not be attending GT, he has already notified the staff of his decision.

ok Techphi; dem is saying it, I am saying it, others are saying...what do you think now?

that will be $10 LOL:laugher::laugher:

have you had your first cup of Joe yet?

no Jon, but it P's me off to have title a thread "rumor" then listen to everyone complain that its just a "rumor"

Duh?

Its like do you want folks to post stuff from trusted sources and friends that don't lie; and aren't just making stuff up with the stipulation that you do or don't have to believe it? Or not?

I personally don't feel like any of us should have to pay $10 a month to hear the same stuff from others fans.

YOU and I personally don't agree with alot of things, but I think you, for the most part would agree the stuff I say or try to tell is largely true. If not...ok...

but Dem has been crucified multiple times on this board only to be right, and frankly I won't tolerate it when directed my way!

That's why I never really post on the hive. I have met some pretty cool people there but don't post unless its goofy stuff.

Dem's a big boy he can handle it. If he's who I think he is I liked the hot chick he was close to lol.

Absolutely. I don't post to the Hive anymore either b/c I'm sick of the gestapo police telling me what I can and can't say.

The kid has to do what he thinks is best for himself. This is the only time he gets to make a decision on where to start college. I know I tend to view recruits as interchangeable (this 4 star qb this year, that 4 star qb next year, etc.) so I need to remind myself that it is a whole lot more important decision to him than it is to any of us.

Best post of the thread. Bravo.

I'm pretty sure that CPJ will tell Renfree something like this:

On paper, the triple option's formation resembles a spread-out run-and-shoot passing offense. With the right personnel – a strong-armed quarterback and fast receivers – Navy could run that offense out of it and pass for a "zillion yards," Johnson said.
"In fact, this could possibly be the best passing offense ever," he said. "Because when you run the option, it limits what (defenses) can do coverage-wise, and you can get all kinds of one-on-one matchups (against the defense downfield)."

I will not bash the kid for leaving. He knows in this system It would be very hard to beat out Nesbitt. That said It hurts. He is going to be a terrific player. Wish him the best of luck.

I wouldn't bash any kid for decommitting nor is it fair to say their "tacky" if they do it before they talk to the coach.

I didn't sign my letter of intent for the school as much as I did the coach. Ask any player. Unless there is a family connection or a strong strong strong fan like admiration for the program you pick because of the coach.

Renfree prob liked CCG and had a #2 coach after CCG. It's very political when it comes to who plays a lot of times and a kid as talented as Renfree will want to make sure he has a shot at the NFL.

Credit where credit is due:

I am definitely glad the word "rumor" was used regularly and prominently in this thread, to differentiate it from fact, and hopefully reduce the Freakoutery factor. Thanks, 33.

believe what you want. Rad personally called EVERY recruit after firing gailey. He didn't tell Sean who is coach was. Sean probably just mentioned it as a matter of fact; like "hey lets see who it is but if its a guy like PJ I probably won't come here"

don't believe. Oh...other places are reporting this same "rumor"

Its funny how folks will believe and drivel the "insiders" on scout will throw out b/c you pay $10 a month, but someone on another board must mean its crap. FYI, those scout insiders I know personally and are just fans like you and I. In fact the AA largely considers them pains in the arses. None of them have inside tracks any better than a few of us; and none them work at the AA and certianly NONE of them are dem.

maybe dem, and a few others should start charging. Will that validate it?

First of all, I don't know anything about Scout insiders - I don't even know why you brought that up. I haven't paid that board in nine months or so.

I understand that our AD called every recruit when Gailey was fired - in fact, I put that in my post. What I also said was that Johnson wasn't even a candidate at that time, so why would Renfree say, "If Johnson is the coach I won't come there." Its a very specific statement, one I find to be difficult to believe.

Do I think Renfree could de-commit? I think all of our guys could. Renfree doesn't look like a fit any more, so it wouldn't surprise me. However, I fail to see how Renfree could've mentioned Johnson in a phone call five days before Johnson became a candidate for the job. Read the post, that's what I said, and you actually agreed with me while you were trying to disagree with me. Settle down, Francis.

Huh? I'm not following you on the $10, and I certainly never questioned whether Renfree would de-commit. I find it hard to believe that he made a specific comment about Johnson, knew that Johnson was a candidate for a job that opened up 6-12 hours before, when the guy wasn't even a candidate and our AD certainly didn't give recruits a list of folks that we may hire.

If he really is Tebow-like, do you think that Tebow winning the Heisman in a spread offense would help convince him to commit back to GT? I guess it all depends on what kinda offense PJ would want to employ.
