What has happened to our running backs?

Is Smith hurt?

Is Cooley dealing with an injury or just playing timid now for some reason?

Haynes has been impressive but he seems to be the only one producing and he can't carry the whole load the rest of the year.

Looks like we need some depth there and would be nice to get a big bruiser for short yardage situations.

Jamal Haynes is a football player. The intelligence to run out another couple of seconds of clock on the long TD run is great to see. For somebody that just switched to RB, for the game to be that slowed down already is incredible.

I was a little distracted during that score. Did they let us score or did we actually break the run? My friend argues that we should have taken a knee at the 1, but I’m fine with the points in that situation.

You've gotta take the points there. A 7 pt lead can be erased in one play. 14 pt leads with less than 2 minutes left are nearly insurmountable.

No you take the points. We couldn’t have run out the clock, so being up by two Td’s was important. I mean Wake only scored two tds total, so having the extra points was huge.

Hate to say it but Cooley is close to the worst RB I've ever seen at Tech. He has terrible vision seemingly running toward defenders and has very little tackle breaking ability. He has ZERO elusiveness. He couldn't avoid running straight into a parked car in an empty parking lot.

He's also pretty slow and never beats anyone to the edge. Tech has almost always had good running backs. Having zero rushing attack nearly killed us against Wake and will almost certainly be a big problem the rest of the season.

And also the play calling was terrible last night.

Cooley looked all-world against Louisville. Dunno what’s happened to him.

He had a bad game. Hopefully it was just that: one game.

Cooley has also fumbled on the one twice. Ball security may be why he’s seeing less playing time.
Jamie Felix is the one back I’m surprised isn’t playing

We 100% could have run the clock out if he fell at the 1 yard line. They had 1 timeout left and we would have taken the next snap with ~50 seconds on the clock.

That said I was fine with him cashing the TD.

Jamal has established himself as the clear 1. He is the best in all facets (running, reviving, ball security). Smith is hurt. I imagine he’ll be 2A/B with Cooley when he returns.

Yeah, I wanted hI’m to take a knee then victory formation. But scoring is also ok as long as we have a decent hands team.

You’re a fumbled snap away from a tie game or a chance to tie. I like getting the points
Yeah, I seem to remember GOL taking 3 points off the board for a penalty during a field goal. Took the 1st down instead, but we didn't score. Cost us the game, IIRC

People hated on Nick Chubb for scoring in essentially the same situation last season. It was dumb IMO. Go up by 2 scores if you can.
