Sample Size

I'm not convinced.
You’re not convinced that every single program Jamey had touched has seen a complete 180? Only program that didn’t turn it around was a school he was at for one year. Key couldn’t get easy wins against UVA and FSU, and especially against Miami. Why did it take him this long to play Taison and Pyron?

Yeah I prefer the random mid-major snoozer coach to the guy who just scalped UNC in their best season ever without a real QB

You're very scientific and objective fr
We scalped UNC in what looked like it was gonna be their best season last year without a QB. What happened to that guy?

We beat UNC worse last year running one play over and over

Not saying this wasn't a more impressive win but let's keep our heads on straight. Just because a coach does better than Collins doesn't mean he should be our next coach. There are a lot of coaches who would do better. We still have a losing record headed in to Athens. A lot of people said that bowl eligibility was Key's benchmark for success, and now it seems like the goal posts are being moved.

Do you enjoy being miserable?
How is winning miserable? Every program Jamey has touched has turned around. I like Key, I think he’s a great motivator, but the reason we’re winning games is solely on Thacker. He’s got one of the best defenses in the nation and a linebacker core that Tech has never seen before. I’m not anti Key, I think he’d be a fine HC, but I want us to be competitive with the best teams in the country. Not sitting at 8-9 wins a season.

Chadwell’s sample size running GT football is 0. Same as Deion’s. Same as O’Brien’s. They’re all good candidates, but Key’s performance as interim makes him a solid candidate. His record after seven games is better than other GT coaches I can remember who took over a losing team.

And yet last year, I bet you HATED Thacker. Most fans did, including myself.

I think you aren’t understanding what sample size actually is… Chadwell has coached for a number of programs, and everything he touches turns to gold. Key is just not as bad as Collins was. There was always abundance of talent in this team. It was just about getting a guy who wouldn’t suck at his job to do it.

He's done better with less than O'Leary did.

Sure, but then I realized it was Collins who was the idiot. He was stepping in there making sure Thacker did the complete opposite of what should have been done. PNode was probably decent too, but we never got to see it.

I don't disagree with that at all, and it is very possible that Collins screwed Key and the OL too. I think the Key we have seen the past few weeks is the REAL Key that we never saw under Collins.

lol, I understand just fine what the OP’s point was. Just don’t agree with it.
