Saturday Games Thread

I agree about UCF - that game was winnable. But Clemson and Ole Miss took us to the woodshed. Its still impressive that the teams we lost to are really good but I'm not sure what that means yet.
Nope. UCF handled us easily. They even chose to not score at the end of the game when they had the ball at our 4 yard line. If we played them again this season we would still lose.

You might be the only person not a byu or Arkansas fan who is watching that game instead of Tennessee / Bama.
Reasonable point. But not sure who I'm rooting for in UT/Bama - I don't see anybody stopping the dwags and have always found intersectional games more interesting. And just fyi - I typically don't watch SEC games.

But let me be clear - I am delighted that there are two teams that can potentially crap on the dwags this year since Florida has abandoned its post.

I'm pretty high on Key as a HC right now, but no way he could've taken us from losing 42-0 to beating them pretty easily. He's not worth 50+ points over Collins.
Well, as much as I like Key, I wouldn't say that he has risen to that level YET, but if he had been given the reins at the end of last season, or we had hired another decent coach then, I believe we would have won.

I’m also liking what Key is doing right now, and would also have a hard time seeing how he could slow down the Ole Miss offense enough to beat them ‘easily’.

Only because Collins was coach. I truly believe that a decent coach could have beat them, and pretty easily at that.
So let me understand - you think that if Key were the coach during the Ole Miss game that we had a chance?

Dude - I love you, man but that is completely messed up. Ole Miss could have buried us.

Looking at that enormous crowd in Knoxville, all I can think about is that if we had listened to Dodd and not hired Carson, and if we hadn't listened to him and had stayed in the SEC, we would be drawing comparable crowds now. A redesign of Grant Field would have had to be done, namely keeping the south stands, redoing the upper east, and doing a better job of the north stands than was done, and it could have happened. We WOULD have found a way to remain relevant in the SEC, and there would certainly never have been a BL or CGC.

If he had been hired as HC before the season began, yes, I do. If he had been named interim after Clemson, we wouldn't have won, but it sure would have been a better game than it turned out. Like I said, I just wasn't all that impressed by Ole Miss, and I'm still not.

I love watching Saban throw a temper tantrum
Having lived in Knoxville for 2 1/2 years after getting out of Tech, I HATE the Vols. I always pull for them against the mutts, but I actually hope Bama is able to come back today, although it doesn't look good.
