Would work in any scenario except 3rd and long. We'd get torched, particularly if it was 3rd & 15 or worse.

This wacky pattern of lose, win, lose, win, lose, win, lose, win needs to stop with a WIN against UVA on 11/4/2023! The last time we won 2 consecutive games, in a row, was 2022 when the Jackets beat a ranked Pitt team, on the road, and then beat Duke at home (for Homecoming).

Ours is really more of a pass wait, but in that game it actually worked because Wake does the molasses mesh.
 
I hope we install the hook and ladder and use it to beat them on the last play of the game.

The UVA foolishness was in '01 (I too was there :facepalm:--what made it worse was UVA had a penalty on the play and then ran it again).

Will be a tough game--GT has taken much better teams than this up there and come away with bad losses.

I'll never forget the 2011 game. We went into that game 6-0, ranked 12th in the country and somehow we lost our minds up there. That completely derailed the team. Even though we came back a few weeks later and beat a top 5 Clemson at home, that loss spoiled what was going to be a special season for us.
 
I also was at that UVA hook and ladder game, and a whole lot more losses besides.

I think the bad Joe Ham loss up there was ‘97 or ‘99. Seems like they beat us with a linebacker playing QB or something?

So what you're really saying is their defense will suddenly turn into the Steel Curtain this Saturday while they run over us for over 300 yards of rushing offense. Got it.
