The game was moved for more reasons than competing directly with the Clemson-Bama game (although, we would have played that night if it wasn't in town). Moving the game up to Thursday also allows us to start preseason practice earlier, which gives our players a head start in learning the new systems. What I don't understand with you out-of-towners is why you wouldn't take Thu/Fri off, come to the game and give yourselves a five day weekend? It's not like they're springing this on you in mid-August or something.

Ditto every thing this guy said. I know for its simply out of the question for some, but for others, its just one day out of the year. Take a couple of vac days and come in Wed nite/Thursday morning. Make an extended weekend of it.

It does suck having a non-tv, thursday opener, everyone agrees with this to some degree. However our guys need the extra practice offensively for when they go to BC and then to VT.
 
FWIW, post on the Hive says our home opener will be televised on ESPN 360. Not exactly basic cable, but should be at most good sports bars.

Edit: oh wait, I guess ESPN 360 is some sort of webcasting thing ... ahh well..

MTSU is better than every team listed above....i don't think that's a big throw away game

but that's just me

oh..and aren't we @ MTSU one of the 3 years?
2011 should be in Murfreesboro

in 2011 the only "pussy" game at home is SC St

2014 i think tulane is on the road, making wofford the only "pussy" game at home

vandy / elon in 2013 isn't really much better than SC st / MTSU in 2010 in my opinion

2012 is wide open it looks like
 
2012 looks like we've only got 10 teams on the schedule right now

8 conference games, georgia, and a home game against MTSU to close out that series

will be interesting to see who we fill out the schedule with....probably at least one more game we should win with a good random opponent a possibility
 
One of the ticket office guys called me to see if I was going to re up. I can move two rows closer in 203, same seat numbers. Or I told him I might opt for twice the NEZ seats instead. He told me the three inside sections are sold out, but I can get row 2 on the ones just to the side of those.

The only problem there is the sun's in your eyes the whole blinking time.

He said I could let him know by Friday, even thoguh the cutoff date was 2 weeks ago.
