Self Fulfilling Prophecy

Ah, my old nemesis, NC.

Actually you can take the post that way, but I was just reading up on some things. Yes, we have lost major players, recruits and past verbal commitments because of our offense's reputation of not throwing the ball.

As I said, I want it all. In the 90's FSU beats us half those games simply because they threw the ball high to tall athletic receivers. We'd outplay them, they'd just toss it up. And we couldn't do much to defend it. (and now UGA is getting the same guys)

Against Duke, DT did the same thing a few times. Certainly PJ has shown some throwing in his past offenses, but his WR's are often ex QB's and RB's (smaller players). I believe that if PJ got a good running and throwing QB and he had plenty of DT's around, he'd throw it even more.

I just am hoping that we can get ahead of the curve and get some more of those tall athletic guys in the mold of CJ, Dez White and DT. It really adds to the offense IMO.

My original post was lamenting how much fun it is to have a DT in our offense right now. But realistically, those guys do not often drop into PJ's hands. Here's hoping that the advantages offered by PJ will attract those kids, but generally I think most are going to be looking at USC, OU, UGA, TT, UT, UM, UM, FSU, etc. first.

I'm not knocking our program, I want it all.
Didn't mean to imply you were knocking anything midatl, just that you do seem to worry quite a bit. I think as PJ's offense matures and kids get a chance to see what he really has in mind, we won't have trouble getting the guys we need to excel. Plus, realistically how many DTs were going to drop into PJ's hands at Ga Southern or Navy? Why would someone who has those skills end up at either place? Unless of course he has his heart set on serving our country and just wants to play a little football on the side. Relax is all I'm saying.
