Sinking (sunk??) Ship....

Choice to Southern Cal should wrap up this Collins' time at GT. We might not win a game next year at all.

Second thought: if any team loses to this GT team (even Western Carolina) the entire coaching staff of said team should be fired on the spot.

Collins has NEVER addressed the fans. Even when asked about the fans in pressers, he ignores the questions with a visible smirk on his face. I am no big TStan fan, but he at least periodically sends out emails to the fans.

They are not allowed to talk about recruits or transfers until they sign. We are definitely active on both fronts.

Because Collins is stupid. Literally stupid. He's the stupidest guy in the GTAA after Todd "I'm a bigger dumbass than Collins" Stansbury.

I'm going to go back and find all the idiots on this board who had a hard on for Stansbury to come back and right the ship.

Stansbury and Collins have effectively bankrupted the GTAA to fund their retirement accounts and will leave us with nothing but a smirk.

This is my hope and I think it is actually possible. He has a connection here that might make him more likely to come. He's tainted enough (Jax, the coed thing) that some programs will not want him. Depends on who else is willing to give him a job and if we can come up with the money to pay him. If he gets fired after this season and doesn't get a job for the 2022 season then I think it plausible he looks around and sees no higher profile jobs either coming open anytime soon or senses no interest from the schools with openings. We aren't getting a hot up and coming coach. I don't want a has been but I think Meyer has something left and will have something to prove after failing in Jacksonville.

Has there ever been a deader duck than Collins this coming year in a power conference program? This isn't just hot seat, this is "how bad is GT going to let this get?"

I don't know how both sides didn't come to an agreement for Collins to resign and get a reduced buyout. Collins saves face, gets a year head start on the next phase of his career, gets to have 'unsuccessful rebuild' on his resume instead of 'oversaw nuclear meltdown of a fairly prominent program' on his resume, and GT saves some cash. This fourth season should not be happening, we cannot allow ourselves to be so rudderless.

He has shown at Jacksonville he can't compete on a level playing field. We'd literally have to open the Texas style non profit to "sponsor" players for Meyer to win at GT.

He was successful at Utah. Florida was doing nothing when he got there. He shot Ohio State into the next stratosphere from where Tressel had them. Urban owns college football, and I would support us putting all of our chips on the table to try to hire him.

If the "ship sinks" then become an ass kicking submarine and "up periscope" all these doom and gloomers. Tired of all the sky is falling BS. To phrase an old TRUTH--when the going gets tough the TOUGH get going. Wonder where that originated. Either roll over or stand up and fight. It's going to be EPIC either way. But what do I know. I'm just a 77 plus Tech fan who has been THERE before and seen it before.
