ESPN FPI Ranks for GT last 3 seasons.

2019: 110
2020: 90
2021: 62

I am unhappy with the results so far this year, but we have played close in more games this year than we did last year.

3-6 (or the likely 3-9) is definitely not acceptable, so we will have to continue the improvement into 2022.

I don't think anything less than 6-6 and top 50 ranking is acceptable for 2022.

The primary problem, which has been an issue going back to CPJ and the “leaky Roof” days, is the defense. Taking the Clemson game out of the equation (As the score is an anomaly compared to the rest of the ACC schedule) in those six games Tech is averaging 31 ppg on offense while giving up 35 ppg on defense.

While complaints about the offense are valid, line play, Sims accuracy, play calling, too few touches for Gibbs, etc, 31 ppg are enough to compete for the Coastal year in and year out. The defense, as has pretty much been the case over the last several years, isn’t getting the job done.

Apparently you are a "sack cupper" unless you agree that everyone needs to be fired tomorrow.

This. The offense is mediocre, but that’s enough to be competitive with most teams. The defense is just bad. Like worse than the CPJ days, which is hard to fathom.

Honestly, this is why I’m not standing on a ledge given the results so far this year. I was never basing my expectations in wins and losses - just progress. Now, he’s still going to have to sell that hidden bite of progress to recruits.

A QB hitting 61% of his passes who has raised his QBR a good 20 points.

We seem to always have had those fans who find happiness in being miserable. Several have been absent from the board and managed to show up this year to JOP.

Yeah, calling for him to be fired this year is stupid. There’s no way that happens, and even this CPJ fan agrees that firing a guy only 3 years into a transition away from the option would be absurd.

I’ll admit that it’s hard to be optimistic, given what appears to be consistently poor coaching. But hey, I’ve seen stranger things happen. If we turn it around next year and win a bunch of games on the way to a bowl and a future of consistently winning seasons, all will be forgiven.

I was a huge CPJ fan as well, but he left us in a disastrous state. I also agree it's not easy to be optimistic. But he has 5 years minimum and I'm not going to be miserable and post nothing but vaginal blood like some of the See You Next Tuesday fans here.

Let's see where it is when the season ends. This should've been a 6 win season. We will, at best, have 4. Staff isn't getting it done. It's not even worth watching the games anymore. I'll tune back in when we're a 7 win team.
So you're not watching until we win 7 game again? I guess we won't see you post until at least the end of next year then.

Ok, can you also stop posting until then?

I might watch the replay where I can ffwd and get it all in in under an hour, but I've got other things I can be doing during the day on Saturdays that are more enjoyable than watching the current iteration of tech football.

So if you do post about the game it'll be the next day?

I can live with that.

Would you just ööööing leave already. We don't give a öööö what you'll be doing. Just leave already, dammit. Bye.
