SMU to ACC?

SMU has invested $250 million into their facilities, $100 million of which is geared towards the stadium.

I'm sure this is not the first time this question has been asked over the years... But where the hell are they getting all this money with such a small fanbase?

SMU = Texas Oil Money

The way the ACC Network contract is written, the monthly payment is 10 times higher if there is an ACC team in the same STATE of the Cable TV subscriber. Stanford, Cal and SMU give us California and Texas ACC Network. That ain't chump change.

SMU also provides a geographic middle-ground that may help bridge the gap with Stanford and Cal. There might even be an opportunity to get creative with hosting some non-football sporting events at SMU facilities.
