So lame...

Wrong! 85% of the battle is recruiting and we can not attract the same caliber athletes in the quantity necessary given our limited academic choices. This is 110% of the problem with our program.

Very debatable. I would say the talent level of our team was VERY high two years ago, wouldn't you? I believe we were 9-2 to start the season and within 4 points of beating the number 2 team in the nation. Of course, it went downhill from there...but again, the games were close and all of the losses can be attributed to things other than a lack of talented athletes.

I'll forever be baffled by people who are angry over what the priorities of others are.

I buy seasons tickets every year (Assuming financial stability) because I love my Jackets and want to support them. I am proud of that. But I don't look at anyone who doesn't do that as an idiot or like something is wrong with them.

There are problems with how some people handle their dealings with Tech, as there is an example of on this forum right now.

But for most people, their priorities come down to how much worth they're getting for what they pay and if they don't believe that $250 is going to be worth spending for something they're not sure they'll like then they're not going to drop the cash. If I was pretty damn sure that we were going to have a 2-10 season, I'd still buy seasons tickets because that's how I work and that's what I do.

But I would be a moron to assume that priorities are universal and that anyone who isn't spending a bunch of money on something they won't enjoy are half-assed fans.

Of course we have fewer tickets, it's how the structure of the two programs works. It sucks. Cry about it. Loudly. Do whatever you want, but don't point the finger at our collective fan base.

The ticket sales are the best and maybe the only barometer of the rank and file sentiment over the hiring of Paul Johnson. All the votes are not in, as the tickets sales might rise significantly as we get closer to the season, but early returns would indicate there is not the "excitement" about the program envisioned by Radakovich when he rolled the dice. Like all good engineers, the fan base is still gathering data, analyzing it and has yet to draw a conclusion.

JD, I hope you totally kicked his ass for no other reason than being stupid enough to be a UGA fan.

Oh....no worries there. Message boards are the domain of the invulnerable.

BULL****. In the past 20 years GT atletics has:

Football: 1 Natl Champ. 2 Top 10 finishes.
Baseball: 3 College World Series.
Basketball: 2 Final Fours.

I'll admit its not great, but have our academic requirements changed? Is there an academic reason that we could win a Natl Championship in '90 and not now?

p.s. there are about 50 out of 70 BCS schools that would trade athletic accomplishments with us in a heartbeat.

Was when I was out there, we hadn't beaten them in 7 years then went to nad lickerville and whipped them and then came home and beat'em in "The FOG".

It's documented that I can no longer sit in the stands at BDS@HGF due to my run in with another redneck nad licker the year we won 51-48.

you didn't answer my question :p

IIRC, there were only two hits that landed. JD's punch to the fool's head and the fool hitting the floor. I couldn't believe he followed JD into the restroom just to pick a fight. Dumb dog.

At UGA you have to donante $2000 just to even have a chance at a seat. At Tech we have people trying to figure out a way around donating money because the "market value" is low. Thats whats wrong with our fan base.

that's for first time donors. To get a ticket to UGA the minimum donation is either $200 or $250 per ticket but they evidently also figure total cumulative giving for one's life for prority of where the seats are, away games etc. It's like AT Fund but it seems to matter more there.

So, anyway anybody that has had tix a few years in Athens can give $500 (plus the face value of the tickets) and get 2 good seats to Sanford Stadium).

The real issue is why did we expad so much when the demand was not there and now the GTAA can't hardly make money because they have such a huge debt load.

No, the real question is how are we going to pay for the expansion, because it's already done.
