So, when we beat BYU

That may be all we need to win. Every game, let me rephase that, MOST games are won in the trenches ( I thought we did a good job vs. UM Dline). If Roof gives BYU offense as much respect and cushion as he did the U, ill start the meltdown thread next week

Yay!!

Georgia State also has a shot at running the table. Expectations of some of our fans are completely unrealistic with our talent level. We played Miami pretty tough at their place. What more were people expecting?

I was expecting to have a better defensive performance than Florida Atlantic.

I was expecting to have a better defensive performance than Florida Atlantic.

Why? Defense seems to have been
historically bad in the past few years, we
Have not shown ability yet to say we are
Better against good teams, in fairness it
is not all on CTR since he just arrived
and only has the players already here
To work with for this year.

But I can easily see that both Clemmons
and UGAG may be able to name their
score, could be some really high point
totals from those teams

One thing that would help is if we can get
the O going well enough to eat some
clock and keep our D off the field so we
will see what happens with those games

How would explain Baylor's rise to football prominence under pretty much the same type of religious restrictions?

http://www.baylor.edu/student_policies/index.php?id=32256

Baylor doesn't ban coffee or tea.
Baylor doesn't ban pre-marital sex.
Baylor doesn't have the same insane dress code.
Baylor doesn't ban tobacco.
Baylor doesn't enforce opposite sex visitation hours.
Baylor doesn't ban profanity.

It does have some of BYU's insane restrictions (homosexuality, alcohol, pornography).

Baylor also doesn't have other various issues like magic underwear.

That being said ... Baylor is still absolutely AWFUL.

Zero national championships.
Only two ten win seasons EVER.
A .502 all time winning percentage.... if it wasn't for RG3 they would have lost more games than they would have won all time.
Only 7 conference titles all time ... most of them in the SWC.
Zero Big 12 titles.

Baylor is not some model for GT or some blueprint for overcoming stupid and pointless restrictions that implode an athletics program. Like BYU, it is a case study in what happens if you replace The Hill with a bunch of bible thumpers with an even stronger disconnect from reality and the competitive world.

In case you think Art Briles is some mastermind, his record there is 4-8, 4-8, 7-6, 10-3, 8-5. One good season when given a Heisman trophy winner.

We beat Miami on Time of Possession, but only because they averaged over ten yards per play on offense.
