Also, for the record, as for the direction of the programs before CG arrived, a fired up TECH team defeated #9BCS Stanford and ugag was defeated by a Boston College team that had been stomped by Stanford earlier in the season.

Thanks for the laugh... it is not a "ludicrous idea"... hey, I have good friends who are Dawgs..

Maybe YOU should spend some time actually talking with those associated with the program instead of always talking about them... they dont charge $$ to talk to people.. all it takes is a little time and effort..

GMC68, how would you compare this years NCSUcks game to the bowl last year?
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">TexStinger, I have made quite a few posts stating that the one game in Seattle is not enough to judge a coach on. I have simply stated that in the past two years that is the only game I have seen a fired up GT team. At least we had one coach in one game who motivated the players.

I agree totally about where a coach went to school. If he/she is the best coach for the job - hire them!

Nonetheless, if you are determined to be miserable about Tech football, then by all means enjoy your misery.
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Apparently, that's the whole point of this thread and many others on this board. I can only imagine what it will be like as the season gets closer.

1. Andy Mcollum head coach MTSU. Recognized as a great recruiter and offensive mind. He is young 43 and a hometown boy playing his football at Marietta High. He has coached both sides of the ball as a coordinator. If he can get get people to come to MTSU and win he can do the same here. I think he could get top recruits in Georgia.

2. Jimmy Robinson because he loves Tech. He will represent us well and is smart enough to surround himself with excellent coordinators and position coaches. Again he would not leave for a long time.

3. Ted Roof because he loves Tech. Proved he could coach at Duke though I know some will disagree. Like Robinson I think he would be smart enough to surround himself with the right people.

If it is a guy who does not have head coaching time he must be a Tech alumni. If we can get a proven head coach from a small coach like Hewitt that would optimal.

GTMG, "if a gut does not have HC time, he must be a GT alum." ????? So we should not have hired Dodd or Puggy?

Texstinger,

Don't forget the Tech man who left us for Alabama.

Nevertheless, all things being equal it would be good to have a Tech man HC.
