Georgia Tech: The school in April finalized a contract extension for Paul Johnson through 2022, and while the financials are not overwhelming, Georgia Tech has never been in a great position to pay coaches not to work. Johnson is 75-54 at the school but 17-19 since guiding the Yellow Jackets to 11 wins and an Orange Bowl title in 2014. As the ACC Coastal gets tougher and Georgia finally realizes its potential under Kirby Smart, Georgia Tech needs a jolt. Industry sources say it's likelier Johnson, who turns 61 Monday, steps aside after the season than the school paying his buyout.

"The" season. That being whichever season his seat gets too hot. Not necessarily "this" season. Not necessarily not this season either.

You’ll know it’s true if he starts being brutally honest with the media.

I'm so excited for the Urban Meyer era. Did you know his daughter went to school at Tech and played on our volleyball team?
Pffffffffft. That's nuthin. Did you know that one of our former players actually coaches on Meyer's staff? So when they all get here, they'll all already know everything and can just commence coaching and reeling in 5-stars and stuff.

Not buying it. He is finally getting the stuff he has been asking for. I think he will ride out the James Graham/ Nate Woody era and that will be it. My only caveat would be if this season is actually disastrous, that could change the situation.
