For those interested in how this impacts Swarm: I talked to the head of Swarm today and he said he is as out of the loop as we are. He said that it looks like Swarm will be just another block in the season tickets area but that he is doing all he can to impress upon the higher authorities the importance of keeping Swarm and allowing Swarm to have a major role in the student fan base. Swarmies will have to pay the $36 season ticket fee.
Apparently they are well behind with the setup of the system. The early registration for blocks was supposed to begin on June first and conclude on June 15. I assume this was just to get the names of the blocks and a guess as to how many people are in the blocks. Most likely, this will be pushed back until mid-July or early August. It sounded like the actual sign ups will begin the first week of school and run for about 2 weeks.
A quick update on stadium construction: The new speakers next to the video board are going up today. The east side ones are up and the west side ones were being hoisted when I checked it out. There is new scaffolding for the video board that is in place and quite a few wires hanging around. I will try to give a more detailed update with some pics later this week.
