Sucked having Paul Johnson win 7-10 games a year

He didn’t retire, he just had enough integrity to know that GT wanted to make a change and he made the transition smooth for everyone.

CGC likely doesn’t have that kind of integrity.
I think he's happy playing golf and not having to deal with fans and recruiting. I appreciate the integrity he showed with the way he stepped down and not killing the financial state of the program. But yeah...he's retired.

He retired.
He said numerous times that he was having to fight for funding to hire even a basic recruiting staff. We had a smaller recruiting budget than Duke if I remember correctly. MBob was literally trying to force CPJ to quit during his time here. CPJ got tired of having to fight his own administration for support.

Have not been there in a long time. I can only imagine the scene this evening.
well, you get a talking to if you call the current coach or anyone on the staff a clown. I got one of those messages from one of the mods. It was all I could do not to laugh out loud at the absurdity.
What the f--- else are we supposed to call him? Genius? He's called himself that. And we have yet to see why.
So for the time being, and perhaps for all eternity, Clown ööööing fits as a description for the current coach.

PJ quits and we hire Clown. PJ quits a year earlier or later, and we don't end up with Da Clown.

I'll never understand the lapse in logic that comes over otherwise-intelligent GT grads when the subject of PJ arises.

Just a reminder:

I'd rather do anything than what we were. Starting in August, we had 4 guaranteed losses before the first kickoff, now that both Duke and Pitt have passed us. Recruiting was stagnant, attendance was declining, and we were never going to beat Clemson nor the mutts again under CPJ. (Don't bring up 2016 - these mutt teams are 100x better than those Richt losers).

We've become irrelevant under CPJ. Thanks for the memories, enjoy your $30+ Million in pay - time to try something different, for the better of the school.

So yes, I'm glad CPJ's quitting is forcing us to roll the dice rather than continue this stagnation.

That roll of the dice sure has aged well.

I suppose we'll agree to disagree. I apologize for my less-than-graceful comments the other day. A lousy excuse, but a lot of bourbon and ööööty football led me to them.
