Has to go. Both of our revenue sports are complete train wrecks. Football is a disaster of a bad coach locked in with a bad contract. A complete stain and T-Stan hired him and then refused to fire him when he had the chance.

Men’s basketball is also a dumpster fire. We had one decent year last year, but that doesn’t overcome all of the stupidity with Ron Bell, probation, etc.

I’m convinced that top level management doesn’t have a clue. His debt problem with his former employer that we had to take a bullet for is further proof. It’s time for him to go.

Don't forget the Title IX lawsuit

I know a few people that work or have recently left a job in GTAA. The stories of the disfunction are pretty bad.

Vultures are peeling the flesh off our football program's corpse, and TStan is sitting there waiting for it to get up and make bread. I respect that he tried his best, but he's in over his head and it's time to get the right people on the bus.

It really does boggle the mind that we hired someone to manage a multimillion dollar athletic department and he can’t even balance his own check book.

I am definitely having some second thoughts about the stuff I gave him the benefit of the doubt on in the past.
(Getting sued by Oregon St., a fairly crummy apparel deal, etc.)

Maybe I’m biased cause I’m not a “Tech man”, but T-Stan has really seemed to öööö the bed recently. I supported him originally because he seemed to understand the unique requirements of Tech’s athletic department, and a lot of the alums were very happy with his’ hiring. However, the past few months have showed he’s way over his head, and he was probably hired because of his GT-past. The idea of hiring a “Tech Man” needs to go away, and the next AD and coach should be the most qualified candidates, not the candidate with the strongest ties to GT.

We have to break the GT centric mindset of the fan base and start looking at the broader landscape. A Chan Gailey type would never be interviewed by today's GTAA because there's no one in the orbit who pays attention to anything in the football world aside from the GT rolodex. I don't know if it's just because we're too cheap to use a professional search committee, but I'm not exactly ecstatic about our hiring process being an assembly of "Brent Key's Island of Misfit Coaching Friends". Spoiler alert, we probably just let Key take over the program with the current decision making. It's like we want to repeat Tennessee's dumpster fire except we think we can do it better with less money and fans.

Tldr; öööö the next person who unironically uses the phrase 'unique requirements of Tech’s athletic department' next time I come to the tailgate

I said it before it happened, don't give Pastner an extension for winning the acc in a covid year with the most veteran team he has ever had. Don't do it. Don't do it.. Of course, Pastner got extended and has immediately returned to his mean. I guess at least were not still in last place in the ACC. There was no reason to extend Pastner but AD let the agent convince the coach has better offers and was going to leave. Tech bailed Memphis out of their Pastner mistake, will someone save us? No way he gets fired 1 year into an extension but Add to the Collins disaster as uga is having their biggest party in 2 generations? Tough times for Tech fans indeed.

This is a big issue with Stansbury. Seems like he wanted to hire Whisenhunt and not even look at anyone else. O'Leary recommended Collins. He just tried to hire Godsey for OC. I don't get it.
