T-Stan

I'm much more concerned with who would be doing the hires. Sadly, I have little faith that the search committee/GT Prez will be able to make the quality hire needed for AD (and in turn a new football coach). The GTAA outside of a few years of DRad has been so poorly run and a wasteland. It is a minor miracle that it has had an success at all since the Homer Rice days (and of course, his terrible hire looks much better in comparison to what is going on now).
What was one of Rice's strengths is he recognized his mistakes early and fixed them. By the second year he saw there was a problem, brought in the potential replacement, and pulled the trigger on the replacement when the third season started bad. Stansbury has doubled down on his own mistake and is allowing it to continue to fester for at least four seasons.

Both will be here at the beginning of the season but if we start 2-4 or 1-5 I'd like to think that things will be put into motion during the off week after Duke
If Tech starts 1-5, next season then this place will hit critical mass.

We’re not even 365 days from an ACC title, we lost Alvarado and Moses who provided height and penetration which are two things we don’t currently have, and y’all are asking for CJP’s head and TStan’s head because because CJP and Collins are still not fired. Stay off the bottle for the rest of February, y’all sound more retarded than usual.

The only bottle I'm on right now is MiraLax, because our office needs a fresh start and I will suffer alongside it.

Tech needs a ruthless and efficient business operator & people developer in the building. It's far, far easier to delegate or outsource fundraising efforts as AD particularly when you've got an org that supports its sports to their fullest potential.
We should hire someone good at everything. Problem solved.

What makes you think that Angel Cabrera would even be aware if the football team started at 2-4 or 1-5? I haven't seen anything that says he sees Tech football as a top priority (nor should it be, IMO).

Anyway, the problem is the schedule. The three weakest opponents are in the first six games. So I have them starting 3-3. Therefore, no changes, right? But I have them going 1-5 the rest of the way. So are you going to start those changes in December after you finish 4-8? Hell, are you going to call 4 wins improvement and say that those who don't see the obvious improvement from 3 wins to 4 wins don't want to see it? So I think we're going to get another year with CGC and Tstan in 2023. Hopefully, at that point a corner is turned - I will always root for them to succeed as long as they're here!

It SEEMS Cabrera has been engaged in athletics and, while it's obviously not a top priority to him (and like you said nor should it be), I think he is mindful of it's impact. Administrators have to be looking at the schools that have successful programs and the impact it has made on applications and donations.

3-3 is going to be tough because it looks like we'll have to beat UCF on the road to get there. Ole Miss, Clemson and Pitt are going to be ranked so it'll be a tough task to knock one of them off. I wish we were getting VT, UVA, Miami or UNC earlier since all of them will be in a transition phase in one way or another. It seems the process of hiring Collins began in October of Johnson's final year, that's why I said we should have a good idea of where we're at on the bye week after Duke and the process would be in motion given previous timelines. If we get to 6 wins with this schedule I'd be thrilled and think Collins should get another year. Collins has a very tall task in getting the transfers to mesh together and having the existing personnel show improvement, especially Sims. He has the tools, it's just a matter of getting him coached up to reach his potential.

"Thrilled" is an extremely strong word to use for 6 wins without greater context. For example, beating the 6 weakest teams on our schedule would feel pretty underwhelming if it's combined the the defense still being bottom half FBS.
For 6 wins to be enough to merit another year, at least one of the wins has to be over Ole Miss/Clemson/UGA (assuming the team beaten is not revealed to be a 2021 UNC overrating) and no part of the team can look like some of last years offensive line/secondary play.

Just asking but was it not Kim King who brought in O'leary?

Look, man, we are obviously getting some grant money from the state or feds for hiring individuals with mental disabilities. Without this money we wouldn't be turning a profit.

Don't upset the apple cart.

If he fired Collins today y’all would complain about the next hire not being good enough within a year too. And we’d be even more in debt.

Collins sucks, but the real problem is we don’t have enough money to compete in football right now. You’re probably going to hate every AD moving forward regardless of whether it’s T-Stan or somebody else. Because they’re not going to be able to fix that.

Don’t know why y’all are losing your minds about Pastner. We’re having a down season after losing two of the best players in the conference who led us to b2b Top 5 conference finishes and a title. ööööing chill. He’s a decent fit for us. And we’re in great shape in almost every other sport that coincidentally don’t have rivals paying $70M on recruiting.

Who is at fault for the financial pickle in football? Tstan mostly. Get rid of him now and pay money to bring in a AD with a proven track record. It starts at the top and that’s exactly where it failed with bringing the current football staff in. Nothing has improved on anything else he’s done either.

Tstan is an utter fool and complete liability. If he had half a brain he would have announced the termination of our OC and DC prior to the uga game at latest. And let everyone else on staff know that their continued employment would depend on the next coordinators.

Then by all means let Collins quit in protest. Idiotic contract debacle solved.

If the clown chose to stay and get saddled with coordinators he had no say in, well then a competent AD would use those searches for the next OC and DC as an actual search for Collins eventual replacement. Then he’d be able to give both a trial run for a year to kick the tires and assess them in house before moving on to that next HC hire.

But no. We have a circus ringleader instead of a AD and all he’s capable of doing is hiring clowns and signing them to ridiculous contracts.

TStan was the AD for UCF when they went 0-12 in 2015. The records at Oregon State for 2016 and 2017 when he was there were 2-10 and 4-8.
He did not fire the coach at Oregon State. His succesor did that after the coach opened 1-5 the next season. He is consistent.
At least with consistency, one knows what they’re getting.

From the sound of things, maybe the GTAA needs to be upended, cleaned out, and reworked also.
