UVA and VT are not on the same level, even in engineering. It’s like comparing Emory and Kennesaw State.Academically, I give uva more respect than vpisu, even though they drink Zima at tailgates at uva.

FWIW, Forbes ranks UVA at #44, GT at #88, and VT #110.UVA and VT are not on the same level, even in engineering. It’s like comparing Emory and Kennesaw State.
i snorted when i read thisAthletic Supporter, what you just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent post, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having read it.
I award you no thumbs up and may god have mercy on your soul.
WSJ ranking is more typical: GT 53, UVA 56 and Vpisu 123 (uga 261 btw).FWIW, Forbes ranks UVA at #44, GT at #88, and VT #110.
So, that proves my point, but no one cares about Forbes rankings.FWIW, Forbes ranks UVA at #44, GT at #88, and VT #110.
Although a GT fan to the core, I did not attend GT. Nor did I go to VT.
My question to GT alums: is there a grudging respect for VT and its fanbase because they are a fellow "tech?"
If so, would this respect be extended to other techs, such as Texas Tech?
Thanks in advance.
as a military prep school? sure. their corps of cadets has a great record.I respect VPI for what they are: a great large animal veterinary school.

That'd be me. I'm not stupid, I'm slow.roughly the same as I respected Southern Poly. actually no, not that much.
To be the man, you have to beat the man....woooooooooI read this in Ric Flair’s voice.
Texas Tech is the worst name IMO. In Georgia Tech, the Tech is short for Technology. In Virginia Tech, the Tech comes from Polytechnic. In Texas Tech, the Tech is just Tech. They took a concatenation and made it part of their name. Also, Texas Tech University sounds terrible. They are VPI. Texas Tech is Texas Tech. We are "Tech." The difference between Tech and these other places is bigger than the difference between Harvard and Mayberry Union High.

Not only that, their football players have their fat little girlfriends telling them how great they are.I’ve spent time in Lubbock and can confirm the above. It’s pretty bad when “Tech” is the fourth or fifth best engineering school in the state.

my cousin (by marriage) is an ME from TT. Smart guy and is in petro now. His sisters both went to TT, as well. Not really sure why as even they will tell you Lubbock sucks.93rd nationally. Mostly focused on agriculture and petroleum, unsurprisingly.
