Tech to play Kansas

.................................... Hell how about Colorado? How many people want to see a match up against those bastards? I do. I hate Colorado.

+1

I do look forward to going to Kansas and cheering on the Jackets, one of the stadiums/venues I've never been to.

I guess this is the Kansas triple option.

I think we should get used to the fact that "quality" OOC opponents are not going to want to play us any more so we'll need to be happy when we schedule one.

We're difficult to prepare for and most teams don't play anyone else with our style of offense so we're not helping them prepare for another opponent down the road (even Nebraska, who hasn't run any form of the 3-O in several years).

+1. I think we already have future contracts with USCeast, Auburn, and Bama. Other than that, I expect we will only be able to schedule FCS and Mid Major conference opponents. However, USC and Pete Carroll say they will play anybody, anywhere, anytime. Fresno St and Pat Hill say the same thing. I know they aren't BCS, but we owe them a little something from '02 and '07.

But I thought our offense has been figured out?

No, you see the only teams that could have figured out the offense are the ones breathing air off the Atlantic. Obviously when it's people like Butch Davis (who's reputation swells dramatically the more you think about stuff he may or may not have done at places that he is not currently at), there is no need to worry about things like "execution" and "motivation". All you needs is a blueprint that can only exist in your imagination.

I think this is a fine opponent especially given the availability constraints. They have strung together a few respectable years now so this "they have no football tradition" malarkey is crap. If you want to go by that when was the last time we sniffed a BCS bowl or the equivalent before the BCS? Hell, we didn't sniff one in 1990 so it is way long ago but I guess John Heisman coached us before any of our grandfathers were born so we should look down our noses at people like KU. I'm not buying into that.

Do you know their field has a track around it?

Huh? The ACC champion was then contracturally obligated to play in the citrus bowl and the Orange Bowl said they would have picked up us in a heartbeat if not for the contractual obligation.

Okay, I was wrong about that to oversell my point (I must be watching too much politics lately) but my point is still valid - we have no good reason to be looking down our noses at KU. Nobody impartial in the country would look at that game and see a "traditional power" against an "upstart"
