Tech's 2022 "Dream" Season - You Saw It Here First!

Alternative theory: we want to avoid the impression that we're anything like Tennessee fans who constantly think they're going to be playing for a national championship until they actually see their team play. Don't be a Tennessee fan.
It's strange to me that nationally, people say that about Tennessee fans. I live in Tennessee and cannot think of a single fan who thinks that way. Maybe back in the early 2000's. Most expect Tennessee to lose 2-3 at best. Last year there was zero optimism.

Thr other side? As a Tech fan I had extreme optimism about 2016's results headed headed into 17. I thought Tech could possibly compete for a championship. Was that crazy? No im a fan aka "fanatic" I hope next year Tech fans can have some renewed optimism for our team with a new coaching staff. I've seen nothing that makes me think this years team can win more than 1-2 games. Hope I'm wrong.

I will say this.. Last year, we lost, at least 4 games, from our own self inflicted errors. If we can clean up the errors and play some sound football, we can and should threaten 6 wins. Not saying we'll beat UGA and such. But, we should beat Duke, UCF, WC, FSU, UVA and VT and maybe Pitt. These are my target games. 100% winnable. If we are really on top of game, Clemson and Ole Miss could be in sights. However; it remains to be seen if we implode and spiral. This is where good coaching comes into play.

Playing in the Coastal, there's no reason to win less than 8 games this season. The Coastal is historically weak. Halfway thru the season, most of GT's ranked oponents will have fallen out of the polls. The assbags up the road & Clemp will be the only 2 ranked teams left that we play at season's end.

I don't know. With Duh U's new coach... They may not just ride off into the sunset, like they usually do. However, with that said, it still leaves the door open to plenty of teams we should compete with. The ACC, overall, is a hot mess. We got Clemson and that is about it. I think Miami is 2 years away... But, for the time being, the ACC is arguably the weakest conference.
