Thacker still DC

I mean I guess we can end up 130/130 in every category? Instead of arm tackling they just learn to turf monster...

Collins really loves his some Thack. I think Collins sees things through a fuzzy prism. But, for all we know, he has thrown in the towel anyway and just trying to max out the $$. Who knows? I think he wants to do well, but I am not sure even he knows how to get there, and in the inner most depths of his brain, he may even realize it is a sinking ship.
 
i see some folks on here remaining optimistic, let it play out and see what happens next year. i wish i could be optimistic. but when you give up 100 pts the last two games and you dont either fire the entire defensive staff or at least the DC, how am i to remain optimistic?

ive reached DEFCON: dont believe anything they are selling.

There were optimistic people on board the Titanic. There will always be optimism no matter how misguided.

You mean there was a contingent of passengers and crew expecting and predicting the Titanic to sink?
 
Here’s the rub. It’s hard to repeat in sports. We often see that in regards to winning but the same can be said for losing. It’s gonna be hard for us to be THAT bad again. I believe we’ll be better next year simply by showing up regardless of the coaches. Other teams have lost a lot. We haven’t. The only player we lost who was a net positive is Gibbs. All the others are easily replaceable. I know I’ll get heat for that statement but I’m just looking at it objectively. Whoever plays LB will make tackles like Jackson. We have a lot of young WR’s who can give us the numbers that McGowan gave. And I won’t even discuss the OLinemen or DB’s who are gone. All are easily replaceable and I expect the next group to be an improvement. Our QB play can’t get any worse. It was abysmal.

What I see happening is we win 5-7 games and Collins smiles at getting another year. I believe we are simply stuck in a lost decade where we’ll bounce around mid pack in a bad conference.
 
Ok. Maybe Thacker is really good (see UNC game) and the problem was the assistants.

I have no idea but Stansbury can't be so blind as to allow Thacker to remain DC unless he's really a savant betrayed by bad assistants and/or mutinous players.

Guess we will find out this fall.
 
I refrained from opening this for a while.

Yes, we all know we're still stuck with Thacker. And we also all know we're still stuck with the Waffle House Juice. But it's a new year. We don't have any games for more than EIGHT months. Can't we just not dwell on our misery for a little while?
 
It really undermines the narrative that Collins is betting on himself to step in and be DC while Thacker was demoted. I'm shocked that KQ was wrong about that.
