The forced pitch is so important. JT would force the pitch.

TQM made a lot of good pitches in the Pitt game. But football is a game of inches and GT needs every right read and perfect play it can get.

The big issue is when the defenders shoulders are pointed at the Aback but near the QB? Charge the defender and make him choose you or the ABack. Hopefully he will choose the QB as the pitch is money more often than the QB. Also, this puts the QB running in the right direction. There is nothing behind the QB but big hugging arms that want to give you a bear squeeze. Here is an example of where the force pitch is needed.

TQM needs to work through the hesitancy on "tight" pitches and forcing pitches. He should be looking to pitch... unless a 1st down is right there...

I'll get Taquon a job at my company upon graduation if he stops playing right now.

Glad you posted this. This was one of the plays that made me know for sure that TQM doesn’t know how to run the offense. The pitch is there, he just makes the wrong read.

It's not just making the reads, it's creating the space through his movement, as op was mentioning. TM doesn't seem to do either well and it's why the offense is not nearly as beautiful to watch now compared to other years.

He created the space but didn’t finish the move by making the pitch as other QBs have done.

He wants to make to make every play. He has done the same since the beginning of last season. This cost us the Tennessee game.

For the outside linebacker to loop around from behind and tackle the QB means we are not running our option game at the speed required.

He made that pitch several times in the game. Pitt (and usf) were really aggressive on the edge. They were trying to force the quick pitch turning the option into a sweep. We need to be able to pass and hit the aback out of that alignment or run the midline. We did neither against pitt. Although the quick pitch did do some damage. Also, the g-c-g need to be able to straight up block two guys and get the bback 4 yards. Our ol play has been awful across the board.
