The Georgia Illusion

Knowshow's true colors were revealed in the bama game. I found it funny that when he got stuffed, he limped off the field holding his wrist, elbow, etc. But when he scored the td he was able td sprint 50 yards full bore off the field. I'd take Dwyer any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I do think ugag's wr's did show a lot of heart and skill with some of the catches they made, taking balls away from the dbs knowing they were about to get smacked.

As for Corky, I truly, deeply, madly want him to suck, but I don't think that judgement can be made with that oline. Most of the game he was running for his life or on his back. Of course, spooning with cox after the game I'm sure made him feel better.

Georgia wasn't caught with their pants down - they were never wearing any to begin with.
:laugher:

Great post!

I think that when they play some other high-caliber teams, we'll find out their true colors. But to do this AT HOME...they're going to face some adversity on the road and right now they've showed they can fold.

The second half 'comeback' is a joke. They had already been dominated.

I'm so happy everyone universally labeled it as a funeral, beatdown, not even close, etc. I was worried after they made it look somewhat close with their 2nd half effort that everyone would ignore the fact that it was indeed a funeral.

The easiest point to draw from having a QB ranked #36 in efficiency, is that there are 35 better QBs in the country.

I don't follow.

Kyle said Reggie had similar numbers. It was pointed out that Reggie's numbers were not similar. The response was 'Stafford is 36th in efficiency'.

I don't get how that defends the original comment. Deflects I get, defends, not so much.

Starting in the NFL is not near the qualification for the best college QB. Just to name few of the many top college QB's who never played or rode the bench ibn the NFL:

Spurrier (Heisman) rode the bench. Pat Sullivan (Heisman) rode the bench. Danny Wuerffel (Heisman) rode the bench/quit. Tommy Frazier never played QB. Ryan Leaf rode the bench. David Greene rides the bench. All incredible college QB's.

Happens all the time. I agree that Stafford's height will hinder him in the NFL, but he has the arm to play for sure.

Hey, don't get me wrong. Just look at Matt Leinart. It takes a-whole-nother level of skill to play QB in the NFL. But, if I was making a list of the top 5 QB's in the college game right now, Stafford wouldn't break the list. I still think that Sam Bradford is the best in the nation, and will continue to be. I'd also take Chase Daniel, Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, Graham Harrel(sp?), and maybe even Colt McCoy ahead of Stafford.

But you're right, it might very well work the other way. Maybe he'll be a great NFL QB. I'm just not sold on him as one of the top handful in the country right now.

I don't think he'll be a great NFL QB, he's too small. He's a very good college QB, though, and he was not the problem for UGAG Saturday PM.

His numbers are similar, that was just added point.

Well I agree that number seven isn't top 5. I'm not so sure that after Bradford, Chase and Tebow there wouldn't at least be a discussion.

Kyle,

What numbers are you talking about? Reggie's best year (his freshman year) compares a little bit to Stafford's worst year (Matt's freshman year).

Stafford's soph and jr to date are WAY better.

stats?

Nobody here loves to see ugag lose more than I, but Stafford is not a joke.

He has a tremendous arm and making that big of a charge back against bama is not easy.

THWG.
