More often than not the first year back from a knee injury isn't very productive. I hope he's not one of those situations.

The other AP is the exception to many rules. There's no telling how hard he worked to get back on the field. RG3's knee injury was no regular boo-boo either and it looks like he's close to full speed. Different people heal at different speeds. Plus, it's also about having confidence in your repaired self. Some folks are ready to cut it loose right away, others are a little more hesitant.

Hopefully IJ feels confident in everything and is good to go come the season opener.
