I have four kids who are öööö proud where their parents went to school and all of them want/wanted to go there because of the history/legacy/respect/earning potential after graduation among other things. Oldest daughter graduated in 15' in Industrial Design and now gainfully employed by IBM, Harrison, it wasn't meant to be but will graduate in May at The Citadel (which is a öööö fine school) John Henry really wants to go there so we shall see and Julia (it's just not a good fit for her but she loves the YJ's more than anything and has given her teachers crap every year when football comes around. So yeah for some kids it's about following in your parents foot steps because they see the amount of success that their parents have had and they want a piece of that. Olivia is actually 4th generation of her mothers side because my parents didn't go to Tech but they were Tech fans long before I took my first breath. So forgive me if I find your statement short sighted.
