It would, but they are not really, really good. They are really really walking around with ESPN heads up their asses, so they feel really, really, special.

People tend to confuse the argument being made. They hear:

"The SEC is not the best CFB conference"

when in fact people are arguing:

"The SEC is not head and shoulders above everybody else"

I think the SEC is the best conference top-to-bottom. Hell they better be with the combo of money, fan support, non-existent academic standards, and fertile recruiting grounds. But they are not so good as to deserve:

1) 5 Top 10 teams and 7/8 Top 25 teams EVERY preseason
2) Rank swapping when Top 10 SEC loses to unranked SEC
3) Free passes on cupcake OOC schedules

MSU was a good team from likely the best conference and we demolished them.
