The Tough Hard Truth

BOR,

You've been trashing players for 2 years now. You have no clue what its like to be in their shoes and how hard they work trying to get a win for GT each week. That 260lb Tackle Brad Sellers played the whole second half with a broken wrist and had surgery this morning. Its cowardly to hide behind a screen name and bash players. I guarantee you won't tell Cord how you really feel about him to his face.

That really stinks for Brad, it looks like we may have lost a couple of guys to injury last night.

This is a message board and players not getting it done will get called out.

It's hard for us to know if a player is injured or not. Information like that doesn't just present itself to everyone immediately. I admire Sellers for sticking it out, thanks for sharing that.

I agree with a lot of what BOR said, and yes I know it's not me out there.

I haven't read all the threads or posts, so this queston may have already been asked regarding talent:

How many of our players could replace the starters on the other teams we play? How many could have replaced UM's starters? Clemson's starters?

Then there is the question of depth.

We will see these issues again when we face UNC, VT, FSU and UGA.

Last year was sort of a miracle year in which a new coach, new system, enthusiastic team and the element of surprise against overconfident teams pulled it off. From here on out, everything will have to be earned the hard way and that requires talent, fundamentals, strength and endurance.

It will take time. Think Beamer and VT.

I'm most pissed w/the lack of a defensive scheme. It was like just make sure 11 guys were on the field. Really worried about Wommack being a psycho that doesn't belong.

Also, what exactly happened to the TO? I don't understand the reversion to the June Jones offense. Made no sense to me whatsoever. I know Miami is scary and everything but huh?!

All the peeps that kept jumping offside need to be dismissed from the school with a brand. Mucho embarassimo no guche. (thanks a lot, turdsack. watch out for that swinging door)

Just some of my thoughts. Mazel Tov!

I re-watched most of the 1st half and about half the 3rd qtr. They went from 8 in the box in the first half (and we were moving it pretty well, just killing ourselves with stupid penalties), to bringing up another S to make NINE guys in the box!

There were times when Nesbitt eluded the DE, and there were 3 guys taking on him and the A-back. Sometimes the block was missed and sometimes there was just another guy there.

We have GOT to find a way to make teams pay for doing that, but until we do, they will do it and we will be shut down.

It amazes me to think that the only junior leaving early is very likely a WR, Thomas!

It seems Dwyer's star is shining as brightly as it ever will but could be on the wane if this season doesn't improve. Considering how short-lived RBs' careers are in the NFL, isn't it pretty likely Dwyer could leave?

Sooo....are you assuming that JD is going to not have a good year this year? The only way I see him sticking around is if he puts up 700 or less yards.

I don't see that happening, despite his slow start.

Last thing we need is to prove to the country that we can have an elite NFL caliber back not do well in our offense.... Here's to JD and the boys turning it around and getting him to the 1000 yard mark, hopefully more...

Adrian Peterson would of had difficulty if the entire opposing defense was gunning for him on every play and the blocking from all offensive players that block was subpar at best.

Hell lets just pack it in for the year and say forget it. We have been caught by everyone else. We have youth all over the place and they get us penalties. Josh misses more reads than he makes.

While I do agree with some of your words a lot of it is out of frustration BOR

A day later there's not one thing I said that I don't believe. Listen Mover, I wanted PJ as our coach since 2005. I even said so often. So I'm happy about having him here. That said I don;t get my panties in a bunch when someone criticizes him. If you don't think there is a pattern in the LSU, Clemson, and Miami games, then I can't help you. All three had common elements about attacking our oline. PJ needs to look in the mirror, because 250 lb tackles at this level don't ****ing cut it. Not to mention flashy Abacks who don;t block and snazzy punt returners who suck playing cornerback. Also, our playcalling turns to **** quick if we get behind and we rely on low percentage pass plays. For the second straight game I felt PJ was calling plays out of a hat waiting for the rabbit to appear.

Awww.. are your feelings hurt? Listen dip****, Ive stated my real name and address several times on this board. There's also a map of where people sit and it shows my seats.

I have nothing against Brad Sellers and I'm sorry he's playing injured. Stupid coaching decision to keep him there if that's the case. MY problem is he is a fish out of water at Tackle and at this level it doesn't work. And Cord Howard played soft last night as did a lot of other members of the team. They know it, I'm not making a revelation here.

I went back and read what I wrote. What EXACTLY did I say that trashed Sellers? Where, spell it out for me, because saying he got owned is not trashing Sellers, it actually ****ing happened.

Moves I would like to see.

- Kill this wolf crap. Lets see another LB like AT Barnes or Sylvester out there on the outside. Of course, Sylvester is out 1-3 weeks with a concussion.

- Burnett and Reese at safety with Coop backing them up.

- Butler and Reid at CB with Tarrant backing up.

- Walls instead of Peters at DT

- Look at getting more pt for hungry freshmen like Cross...maybe even take the redshirt off Dieke. Pass rush cannot get worse.

- Start Luke Cox opposite Roddy Jones again....solid blocking and runs just fine when everyone executes.

- Move JD out to AB in special situations (assuming he can block worth a darn) and put Luke Cox at BB in those situations.

- Put more pressure on Claytor, Uzzi, and Smith to step up on the OL. If they cannot do it...go ahead and start burning redshirts to get the meanest OL's on the field.

- Pray that Nesbitt learns to make better post snap reads...he is our only hope...and please...no one remind me that Jaybo returns in two weeks because he is always one hit away from a cracked skull.

....is that enough?

Don't know, but it looks like a good start. :)

I pretty much agree with all of that, but Cox and Roddy at Abacks needs to happen first. I don't want to see Anthony Allen in the UNC game. He needs to ride the pine and think about what it means to start for GT. The first sub at Aback needs to be Marcus Wright. He gets it done.

I also competely agree with the elimination of the Wolf position. Doesn't work. I totally agree with your thoughts on the starting Db's. I'd like to see Sylvester as the other LB though rotating with Barnes.

The DL needs to look like this: Morgan, Walls, Barnes, and Peters/Ebiguinwe (sp?) Peters is totally out of his element on the interior and he needs to be moved to the other DE. He can split time with Ebiguinwe. The first DT in the game needs to be Anderson. God I wish Lanier was still available.

On the OLine, Claytor and Uzzi need to start asap. We also need to light a fire under some other starters by playing freshman and redshirt freshman.
