This board amazes me

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on that one. The difference between champions and losers are that losers make excuses like "3 games in 12 days," which, by the way, is a deceiving stat when you normally play 3 games in 14 days.

Trust me. Florida fans wouldn't make that excuse for their championship football team.

Plus the first game we only really played a half, and then we've had seven days since the Clemson game.

I agree about the champions thing but I think you are underestimating the value of a couple of extra days.

Bad game, we looked bad in all aspects, everything that could go wrong did. The D played horrible. For one minute to see a post questioning Josh or any of the other players heart is just sad. These young men feel worse then any bozo on the internet, they are the one's working their tails off to do well. It just wasn't our night, it happens. Miami played a hell of a game.

So while some of you go jumping off bridges these young men will get back to work and try to make things right, I wouldn't bet against this group of guys.

The tools come out after losses, its ridiculous with all the end of the world post. Get a life.

Wouldn't mind seeing this posted on top for a few days. You would have thought we just lost to Directional Michigan or something.

We got our asses handed to us plain and simple. I fully believe we will come out ready to play next Saturday at noon in Bobby Dodd.

We had a normal amount of time to prepare for Miami. We played Thursday and Thursday. If anything, we should have choked against Clemson and beat Miami. If that was the case, then I would buy the 3 in 13 excuse. UNC is a litmus test for our team if I ever saw one.

Cajun I hate looking for excuses as well and I agree about your litmus test response.

BUT, IMO when you play 3 times in 12 days there is a rest factor to throw in. We did open with Jax St. and then clemson 5 days later and then UM 7 days later, but not having a full week to prepare. About the time we were getting our legs back from Jax St., we played a full game. We looked extremely leg weary during CU game as we know. We get a full week of prep for UM, but our players have not a had a true full week of rest. They may be kids, but the bodywill act an react in odd ways without rest.

Once again I am in no way looking for excuses, but I think we find out a whole lot about our team next Saturday at noon.

It took me a second, but then I knew, and agree

I hearby retract this line. I should not assume to know Dems intent when not explicitly stated.

For clarity of my own intent, if for no other reason than to help ensure others do not make the same mistake...

My disappointment in a particular player is AA. Specifically the blocking, but also in the running and overall execution. I hope there's an underlying reason for it that I am just not informed about as of yet. I see alot of potential in him, but the execution to date is a big concern.

Overall, we went into last year with expectations of 3-9. We had an underjacket mentality, putting guys out there with simple directives. Make your block, make your read, and give it 100% effort, and if everyone does this, we will be successful.

For this season, look at Dwyer's quote in Cajun's sig:
"There's no comparison between last year and this year in terms of how much more comfortable we are with this offense," Dwyer says. "Instead of thinking about everything we do, we're just playing. We're clicking as a unit, and that makes you play faster on the field. If we keep improving like we did during the spring we can shock the country."

Now look at his quote last night:
"We just killed ourselves," Dwyer said. "We didn't play Georgia Tech football. I think we finally learned our lesson. We realized that if we don't go out here and work hard, we're going to get our butts kicked."

This quote alone sets him as the anti-knowsho. To suggest Dwyer is knowsho or that he just quit is wrong... or I certainly do not agree with that with the evidence presented to date.

Earlier in the year CPJ said something like there are alot of us who want all the accolades, but don't want to put in the effort / work to earn them. Well folks, I'm afraid that's where we are. Expectations this year seem to include overlooking the "do the work" (blocking) we knew we had to focus on last year. We need to get it back, and fast.

The good news is, we can get better, and I think we will. I don't care how good you run. If you don't block for your teammates, you shouldn't be allowed to run while they block for you. So until AA improves at blocking, I don't think he should be running either. Last year we were a team. This year "we have too many weapons." Get Dwyer behind Cox and Roddy/Wright, and do whatever is necessary to help AA and the OL become more effective blockers, and we'll still win some big games this year.

GO JACKETS!!! Not Nesbitt, or Dwyer, or AA, or "who's your favorite player thread"...

GO JACKETS!!!

It's hard to discount that our defense was on the field for most of the game against Clemson and then Miami made sure they ran the defense all over the field in the first half, particularly the DL and anybody else rushing. I wouldn't call it an "excuse." There will be an L no matter the ifs or buts, but hopefully it does mean we can get more pressure on the QB in the games going forward.

I might buy that if we hadn't looked absolutely awful on the very first defensive possession of the game. Unless they got worn out from watch our offense eat up the clock.

Yep. I was nervous when we only got the FG on the first position, because we moved the ball well and I didn't know how our defense would respond.

I then spent the rest of the game crapping myself every defensive position.

We had them 3rd and long on the first defensive possession, and then we give up the long pass play where the guy was tackled around second base. Next play touchdown.

But seriously, Wommack was a great hire.

You're an idiot. It's not Wommacks fault the DL is weak.

How do y'all not see that our problem is a weak DL...not the defense in general.

Morgan was Doubled the entire night.

When you get NO PUSh on the DL, you leave you're secondary exposed.

Jesus Christ, please get a grasp of the game before you post.

Last year we had a great DL, as good as any in the country, and our defense in the second half of last year was bad.

I am not a football coach but it seems if you can't get pressure on the QB it is the D-Coord. responsibility to find a way to hit the QB. If we cannot hit the QB folks we are going to lose more than we win this year. Teams like Miss St., Duke, Vandy, UVA that should be pushovers are going to be very tough football games. Jacory Harris seems to be a good QB however I think you could put Nesbitt back there for UM and he would have the same results. Any qb with a pulse that has more than 5-7 seconds to read and react is going to torch us.

We had 5 DBs on the field on nearly every down. Guys were running around WIDE OPEN. This is a scheme issue, chief.

You sound like the guys who would defend Nix/Gailey

TOP 1st GT-8:54 UM-6:06
2nd GT-6:51 UM-8:09
3rd GT-6:19 UM-8:41
4th GT-4:27 UM-10:33

the TOP was pretty even until after half time
notice the trend, by 5 mins into the 3rd the D was done for

all UM had to do was play keep away in the 4th, thankfully they missed 2 field goals
