This is why we need to dump Russell

I'm gonna be honest: that's stupid.

I agree there are valid reasons for dumping Russell, but doing it to attract recruits is not one of them.
 
I don't know, I don't think it has anything to do with Nike per se, it's a willingness to look like clowns on Saturday. We can't even get people to agree to wearing blue, much less the crap those fools wear.
 
I'd like to see/hear CPJ's reaction when a recruit chooses another school over GT b/c of uniforms.
 
Anyone who makes uniform color or design one of their top 10 reasons for choosing their college education simply does not belong at Georgia Tech anyway.

Kids are stupid, even some of the ones that come to Tech. You are telling me if the best prospect in GA wanted to come to Tech because he liked our uniforms you would tell him to screw off? I doubt it.

Having Nike as your sponsor also tells folks you are a big time program. Look at the other schools with Nike: OSU, UF, UGA, USC, FSU, Miami, etc, etc, etc.

Who does Russell have? Us and USCe.

If someone wants to come here because he likes our jerseys, then fine. Good for him, but that's not the issue. You implied that we should dump Russell to attract recruits. That is dumb.

What? Nike tells people that OSU is big-time? I always thought it was the multiple national championships and BCS bowls.

Kyle, we can't really afford to have stupid kids at Tech. If the best prospect in Georgia wanted to come to Tech because of the uniforms I would take a good look at his transcript.

Our one test case happens to be a kid who had to go to JC. What does that tell you?

Not to mention it is apples and oranges. We wear normal, classy uniforms. They wear outfits that Ronald Mcdonald would wear if Mickey D's colors were green and yellow. If you like Oregon's uniforms you probably buy pants two sizes too big and hats DESIGNED to be worn backwards.

I'm not saying I like Oregon's uniforms, but Nike does produce better stuff and their apparel is more widespread.

Consciously or subconsciously recruits judge teams based on the way they look. We should dump Russell because their uniforms and apparel suck. Impressing recruits would just be an added benefit.
 
I have yet to hear 1 reason why we should keep Russell. I'd love to get Under Armour actually.
