I have no problem with PJ as our coach but he is horrible at clock management. The end of this game is on him. With 3+ minutes left he calls timeout... with 15 seconds left on the clock. On the wet field our offense was toast, it was a run out the clock moment. Nope.
On third down he should have taken the four down strategy and push the ball on the ground. If successful he may have fourth and short, but no matter what we would have left Miami with only 2 minutes. That is s big difference versus 3 minutes plus three timeouts.
Lastly after the rain, which you have to expect, you have to play Matthew Jordan. Run over Shamire every single play! Straight ahead, as they have the same poor footing that we had.
I am so sick of being able predict end of game bad strategy by pj.

As to end defense, with crappy field and a rookie qb, you have to make them best you with talent, not virtual handoffs that my 60 year old wife and I could do. It's sloppy wet, why give them ten yards cushion to pick up steam and roll over your players?

That's why you should apply for coach of the Georgia Tech football team. :lolfacepalm:

I do agree that I thought during the game that Matthew Jordan was better suited for the conditions during the hard rain....but who pulls their starter for a backup because it's wet?? I don't think you can dog CPJ for sticking with the guy who has been our best offensive player all year.

I was thinking MJ would have been better suited to just run clock and get some positive yardage behind Devine past time we had the ball.

If any of us Tech fans is waiting for johnson and his archaic offense to take us to the promised land, it ain't going to happen. He is always 100% on his after game take of why his team lost.

Please, tell me how we go undefeated against Dabo, Meyer, Saban, and Fisher in a playoff. I’ll hang up and listen.

Our defense was pretty good in the 2nd half. With how they were playing, I dont see how you choose to go for it on 4th instead of punting except using hindsight.

I'm not a football guru, but to me we lost because our talent/experience on the field couldn't execute effectively against the talent/experience on the other side. Don't get me wrong, the genius scheming on the bubble screens was terrible. I'm sure there were a few other boneheaded calls on both sides of the ball I'm missing. But the schemes on both offense and defense put the players in a position to win multiple times and it just didn't pan out. That's not to say it's the players' fault: they looked like they played hard all game to me. But there's only so much you can do with the hand you're dealt. It was an exciting game and sucks the way it ended.

This team is missing talent compared to the rest of the ACC. Look at NC State. They were a nobody team for years and now they are stocked with NFL talent. Somewhere along the line the rest of the ACC upgraded their talent level and we failed to catch up.
PJ is a great game day coach but he needs athletes.

Injuries killed us... plain and simple. With Benson, Mitchell, Alexander and whoever else still in the game... we win. We still should've won as it was. It took a fluke perfectly defended 4th and 11 miracle completion for Miami to win. No two ways about it.

Mitchell was the one that hurt most on D. Miami gashed us up the middle several times and our LBs were way too slow getting in position. LB remains a major need for us. Alexander was back in toward the end of the game and made some plays.
