Today’s Blunders….

We are done. I actually think the only coach with any sense is our offensive coordinator. He put Yates in a position to win the game. All the other coaches are complete boneheads.
Yes, he put Yates in a position to win, but he lost the game in the final minutes of the first half, when he didn't use Yates and Gibbs to put us in a position to score

The holder was spinning the ball when it was kicked. Can't blame that one on the kicker.
I feel like there's a metaphor here where Paul Johnson is the holder and Collins is the kicker. But I am so sober and depressed that I dare not try to make it myself.

edit: StingTalk is the upright? Patenaude is definitely the commercial break asshole in the red shirt.
edit 2: help

Am I to understand that you place this loss at the feet of Coach P?

We can not be in more disagreement.
No, our woeful defense is the #1 primary reason. Thacker probably owns 40-50% of the problem. The other 50-60% goes to Collins for general mismanagement/inept head coaching & inability to manage the clock, Goober for wasting great talent/poor play selection & Key for his atrocious OL.

Actually you can. The kicker started his move PRIOR to the ball being snapped which threw his timing off just enough to shank it. The holder IS suppose to spin the ball to make sure the laces are facing away from the toe. Totally on the kicker.

I feel that the drive BC scored to get to 14 was the sign we were likely to lose. Two dumb penalties to give them the ball at the 30 something instead of the 8 and stupidity running rampant on D brought them back into the game. One stop there with a fg by the o and they were done.

1. We are the most undisciplined football team in the NCAA. At last count we had 10 or 11 penalties with TWO of those coming out of timeouts. You can’t win making mistakes like this week after week.
2. Clock Management was horrendous today. End of first half, we have an opportunity to possibly put points on the board and let the game clock run all the way down fro :52 to :25 before getting a snap off. This was with two timeouts in CGC pocket.
3. Defensively, I cant understand how receivers can get that far behind you time after time. I can see a blown coverage every once in a while, that’s going to happen, but this is a consistent pattern that has been happening all year and with supposedly the best group we have defensively.
4. If there is a worse offensive line in football today, please refer me so I can go watch for myself.
5. How does a fifth year kicker miss an extra point? I know, by hitting the right upright.
6. After they got burnt on opening return the next few were pockets kicks. We never made an adjustment and put a return man over there. Nothing against Griffin, but at least move Gibbs over there and make them do something. Dictate what they do, and not what 5hey make us do.

We could be looking at two major ass whoopins in the next two weeks. I hope not, but I have little confidence in this staff preparing these players for what’s coming.
good analysis and I don't disagree with anything you say. Specifically #4. Changing the offensive coordinator does nothing if they keep Key. Their going to get Gibbs killed.

How about being penalized for having the same numbered jersey on two of our players during kickoff?

CGC totally coddles his players because they get to pick which # they desperately want. ööööing ridiculous.

We swung the pendulum too far with this hire. We went from one coach who couldn’t give a piss about anything other than calling his offense to one who wastes time on everything but actual coaching. Is there not someone out there who can do both?

All I know is that it’s infuriating to have this atrocious on field product and then have to sit through all of the extra crap this coaching staff has spent energy planning (in lieu of football): light tunnels, smoke machines, money downs, uniform combos and videos, tshirts for coach to wear to practice, weightlifting on the sideline, the stupid juice crew jumping around as we are getting our dicks kicked in, slogans and logos, and on and on.

Wait our offensive effiency dropped when we the dropped the "high school' offense
It’s pretty clear we’re no longer embarrassed by our offense. That should be our primary concern, not having our manhood challenged by the offense we run. To hell with offensive efficiency.

Why did Key forget how to coach offensive linemen? He seemed to do a good job at Bama. Is he being held back in some way by Collins?
