Today’s Blunders….

I’m tired of football season. Thanks Geoff
Yeah, my normal routine, since I was a student at GT, has been on football Saturdays to wake up, work out, get work done (school, then kids, then yard) by noon. Watch college football until midnight with good food all day. I arrange work and family around that plan every fall (it was awesome when the kids started school sports instead of red leagues!!!). Yesterday, was just horrible knowing UGA was gonna win and GT was going to lose in the exact same fashion we always do these days. I barely watched any other game. I did catch the end of the FSU/Miami game which took me back to the 90’s. By the evening I was watching you tubers at the Grand Canyon. It was sad.

Actually you can. The kicker started his move PRIOR to the ball being snapped which threw his timing off just enough to shank it. The holder IS suppose to spin the ball to make sure the laces are facing away from the toe. Totally on the kicker.
Actually that's what kickers do... If you wait for the ball to be spun & placed, you will rarely get a kick away. The timing's that close & the rushers off the corners & up the middle are that quick. It was true 50+ years ago when I centered on FGs & PATs & it's true today.

Doesn’t have a bench of 12 NFL possible 4 & 5* OL with half a dozen greyshirts to replace them.
I understand that. However Saban would not have hired him if he could not coach offensive line play. That is what puzzles me.

Who said to wait for the ball to be placed? I know it's timing. I kicked. He started his motion before the ball was snapped. That threw off his timing. He could have drawn a false start flag, ironically. It wasn't much, but just enough.

And one of UTs best ever....what's changed here ?

How many coaches have been hired away from Bama and been successful? For every Smart, there's 2 or 3 Dooleys, Kiffins, or McElwans. Saban is the secret sauce, not his assistants. If we want to poach good assistants, hire from a Dabo CEO type program.

Cimaglia has been an improvement. He missed a kick. It happens.

Don't agree. Something is wrong with this team. I support our Coach and our team, but we are struggling to get past a point to succeed. We are snakebitten so far, but that intangible is on the Coach.

Kiffen is just getting started. Not his fault Tennessee and USC threw money at him before he was ready. He is ready now and will be the next coach at Bama. Then Natty’s will follow. He knows how to coach and has connections to get assistants. Everyone thinks Dabo will be their first choice. They are wrong.

Would be better for us if Kirby goes to Alabama
