Bravo to Bradley for this gem in his article:
Geoff Collins was Money Down
the drain.

I just applied citing my vast StinGTalk experience as a proxy for "one to two years of job-related experience."Todd’s been out for two days apparently.
It blows my mind that nobody covering Tech posted this anywhere this weekend. Looks like Cabrera got out of the game in Orlando, called his assistant and told her to list Todd’s job.Sensitive information? Like "we suck, don't tell anyone?"

I like my chances, ehhh. I’m all aboot Georgia Tech.@05GTCorndog just applied under the name Stan Toddsbury.
I'll agree with half. of your sentiment. Collins seemed like a decent hire at the time. The 7 year contract was absolutely a terrible idea and most said it at that time. It's even more painful when you take that Collins called this his "dream job" so it never would have taken a 7 year contract to get him to come. That was done to try and quiet us fans. Well it worked, Bobby Dodd stadium has been pretty quiet as fans and students have stopped showing up.I have no problem with him taking a flyer on CGC. Coaches were not exactly lining up to take over GT. And I had no problem with the idea of a seven year contract considering the turnaround could take time. But it was a firing offense to lock us into $3 million a year for seven years for a "flyer".
One of us is bound to get the job. If I get it, we tailgate at mid-field till right before kickoff.@05GTCorndog just applied under the name Stan Toddsbury.

Did Stansbury not handle some sensitive information properly? That’s trolling at a high level. Elite.

You have to give yourself some kind of out if the guy is a world class laughingstock failure, and the candidate has to accept that. If he cannot, then he is not actually confident in his own coaching abilities.
Second, this edge boondoggle is beyond belief when we cannot field a quality football team or consistent basketball team. Having a brand new Edge is a nice to have, not a need to have. We NEED to have a competitive football and basketball team. Spend the 82 million on that, not 1000 square foot offices and mahogany desks.
He got smoked by that Dec 31 date by CGC's agent. WTF, right?I have not problem with the 7 yr contract or the guaranteed 3 seasons. The buyout should have dropped for year 4 and there is no excuse for having it run through Dec 31. That was basically a 5 year guaranteed contract for a coach with no little track record and someone who was not a hot commodity.
I might even buy 4 guaranteed seasons. Had CGC beat BC, UVA, and NIU he would probably still be limping along now pointing to turning the corner in year 3, maybe even two of those. He could still be coaching if he had beaten a G5 team at home and one of 2 ACC teams that finished 6-6. We end this year 3-9, part ways with the reduced buyout, and start new without all of the drama of a mid season bloodbath. But he couldn’t clear that speedbump masquerading as a hurdle. And our AD signed a moronic contract.

Sounds like nothing in his department was handled as sensitive in last 36 hours. He’s been tighter lipped than anyone else there the last 48 hours. But you don’t advertise the AD job on LinkedIn. No way that’s real. It’s some good trolling.Did Stansbury not handle some sensitive information properly?
