Is Joseph no longer committed to us? Or just using visit opportunities? The caption has me concerned.
just saw this on his IG

Do portal transfers sign a letter of intent? Is there a time period they're supposed to do so? Do we need a Portal "signing day" to know when these transfers are official? So many questions about this stupid process...

They are "official" when they enroll and register for classes.

Is there a reason that high school recruits have to go through the letter of intent rigmarole but portal transfers don't? Was this just an oversight when the NCAA opened this process up?

I guess so but it would be hard to do. I can see the benefit of having letters of intent for HS kids because the ones that do not early enroll, you would have schools still having to fight to keep committed kids up until summer when they could actually enroll. I don't know when you would put a deadline on "signing day" for portal entries because they can go in at any time up until May 1st to be eligible for the fall, but they may still have to finish out summer classes at their current school, so they couldn't really "sign" anywhere else until that is done.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Arky has gotten us before. (must of gotten some $$)

I'd be surprised that a kid could finish out summer school then get caught up enough on the playbook to play at another school in the Fall. How many "Fall" practices are there between summer school ending and the first game of Fall? It can't be very many.

Most won't do that but it's possible. It's easier to do on defense or as a return/special teams specialist. There are some though that won't transfer in until after summer. Younger ones that may not get in the mix this year anyway could still come in the fall.

Wait, what? So guys committing from the portal are now flipping to other schools? That’s a thing?
First this guy and then the guy from Wyoming. In one portal only to go through another portal. It’s like a bad episode of Star Trek.

Yup. Solomon Boyd, WR from Wyoming, just “flipped” to SC. Portal transfer “commitments” don’t mean anything, it seems.

As fans, we may not know who is actually on the team prior to the kickoff of the opening game. Might as well take the names off of the back of the jerseys and root for #7 to get open on a post so #10 can hit him in stride for a TD.
