Transfer Portal Tracker

I don’t think this is fair. He is our #1 and his drops were last season. He was tight this year. He was under utilized this year secondary to the limited passing attack with injuries to Haynes. He is way more important and valuable than you are giving credit for. Fortunately we have good depth. I just hope Malik doesn’t follow suit. They both tweeted soon after the 2023 season that they’re both coming back.
Malik and Eric had several drops. Eric more so. He's fast and was a potential "take it to the house type WR" but we just move on. I seriously liked Canion and Stockton better and think they have more upside. It is the college landscape now that there are no further restrictions on transfers and NIL so we must look at it like the pros.

Not without considering location and organization stability. In the case of players the degree value should also factor in. State taxes are another consideration.

By "significantly more money" I meant 50%+, in which case state taxes wouldn't be a consideration. If he's leaving for only 10-20% that would be weird to me. Obviously I have no inside info though and unfortunately we'll probably never know for sure. I hope that in the next few years more transparency gets brought to the NIL market.

From what "rumor" is....He asked for more Money from Tech and they said no. If that's the case, then he better land somewhere better (which will be hard) because it tends to leave a nasty taste if you say "I'm leaving" and "Oh I changed my mind"..... If $$$ was in fact the issue and he finds out he can't go get it somewhere else, it'll be a terrible business decision for him

If that rumor is true, then the staff must feel confident in replacing him or that those assets are best allocated elsewhere and that's good enough for me.

Eric Singleton is a fantastic WR and a prominent part of our offense. He has only played 2 seasons and will continue to improve. We would love for him to stay.

While I am certain that he will do well wherever he ends up. I doubt that his NFL draft stock will improve by going somewhere else. Unlike Gibbs who had to escape Coach Clown Car's program to improve his draft stock, Singleton is in a good program with good coaches and support. Singleton leaving is more like McCollum leaving. He was our WR1 then went to UNC that was coached by their most successful HC ever (Mack Brown) with a future #3 NFL Draft Pick QB (Maye) and basically got buried in obscurity. Singleton has a great situation at GT.

Nate McCollum (2022 w/ GT, Vs 2023-24 with UNC)

If GT is not the place for him whether football or off the field related then he should go elsewhere.

People don't care about their NFL draft stock anymore unless it's someone at an FCS/G5 school trying to jump to P5. The guys like Singleton that will ultimately get their shot in the NFL, it's all about money right now.

Yeah, it sucks to lose Singleton. You can't teach that kind of speed. I have no idea how much he was asking for or how much he can make elsewhere, but, assuming it's a significant bump, I can't blame him. An NFL career is never a guarantee. Even if you play perfectly, there's always a chance at a significant injury. The safest move is to get the money now.

Until there are multi-year contracts/scholarships you're going to see players trying to maximize the financial opportunity just like many of us probably job-hop for more money.

This is where we need to get to keep all the poaching from happening. It's the wild west right now with no rules.

We got speed coming in...not much of a difference between he and the Fr Allen from Buford. Maybe 2 or 3 tenths of a second which unless you're running track doesn't equate to much in pads

Is Allen playing the bowl game?
No...but sounds like we may have a few not playing in it .... Haynes King being one of them potentially. But you never know the rumor mill. No way I'm risking my starting QB or even Efford vs Vandy in a bowl that really although is a reward, is meaningless. Yes, we can get to 8 wins but our other 7 gms won speak more loudly than beating Vandy which may not be an easy task

If the bowl is meaningless the GTAA needs to stop asking the fans to buy tickets. Fans should stay home (as the players are essentially doing) and be with their family.
