Tressel Emails

Here is my guess as to what happened:

Tressel gets these emails, doesn't know what to do at first, sends to compliance people.
Tressel talks to players and asks if they know about this. They say no.
Tressel asks to see their Championship rings. Players say they can't find them and they must have lost them or something.
Tressel "believes" them. Asks the guy for names so that the players don't get their trophies this year.
dude, I am tired of correcting you. Stop making up stuff. Tressel never told Ohio State about this and signed a document saying he had no knowledge of any violations:
Jan.13, 2011: While reviewing information on an unrelated legal issue, Ohio State's office of legal affairs discovers Tressel's e-mail exchanges with Cicero. School officials searched e-mail accounts of all other football staff members and found no evidence that any other staffer knew of the players' involvement with Rife before December 2010.

Dec.9: "On or about" this day, Tressel first hears of what federal officials know about his players' items. He does not tell OSU officials about his e-mail exchanges earlier in the year.

Sept.13: Along with every other athletic department employee, Tressel signs an annual NCAA certificate of compliance form indicating he has reported to the school any knowledge of possible violations.

ah, ok. I didn't see that timeline and other facts. That's pretty bad, but at the same time (CONJECTURE), he could technically say the violation was "impossible" because he talked to the players and they said it wasn't true...he took there word that the possible violation was rendered impossible...just another guess feel free to correct it, I don't really care, but apparently bearing people's faults on the internet is something that gets you off. I like to give the benefit of the doubt where possible. And in a case that really is very insignificant...(~$5000 of tatoo services and payment for memorabilia...maybe $10,000 don't want to get google policed again)...I really don't think it's a huge deal. Not to mention that perhaps a misunderstanding of the rules really was at fault. They said their compliance office needs work too. Maybe they weren't sure that selling memorabilia like trophies wasn't allowed. They weren't university sponsored items. They were trophies. Can a player never sell his trophy? I guess the obvious response is just not while he's a player, but my comeback to that is, but he can never sell his jersey because it's the university's, not because he's receiving benefits for his playing...a trophy is technically his...

Why are you defending this sleazeball? He has been dirty everywhere he has been including OSU, it's not like this is the first time.

Please name another Ohio State player besides Maurice Clarett that you would call dirty in his 10-years there...

Provide examples of dirty/classless/sleazeball activity that you have seen/heard of Tressel engage/ing in...

Does he run up the score? No
Does he oversign? No
Does he cry about officials? No
Does he recruit/teach dirty (on the field) players? No
Does he trashtalk? No
Does he win? Yes.

lol crew, I don't know where to start, so I just won't. Here are better Tressel defenses for you though: "Tressel didn't want to get involved in and release information from a police investigation." OR "Tressel didn't want to release information possibly acquired in a lawyer-client meeting."

Troy Smith to name another, it's about Tressel skirting the rules its not about the players, he has done it everywhere he has been.

The man is a charlatan, think Beamer without the ass on his face. He preaches character and morals but is as dirty as they come.

...yeah...forgot about troy smith lol...ok name 2!!! (Smith by the way used money from a booster to pay his mom back for a cellphone she bought for Maurice Clarett...soooo it's semantics kinda...)

I dunno...I just don't think he's that dirty. Maybe I'm just being duped by his "act."

And I disagree with your Beamer comparison. Beamer recruits and teaches dirty on-the-field play. Tressel has never done that.

Booster issues, don't indicate a dirty program, they indicate a successful one...You don't have booster problems if you don't have superstar athletes. You don't win many games without superstar athletes...If we start winning and attracting big time recruits on a regular basis you can bet your life you'll start hearing about our booster problems...

it is proper to use ps, and then pss and psss or shouldnt he be doing pps, and then psps? lawyers:lafffacepalm:

Now I really feel bad for Tressel. Once his kids goofed up, he was 5crewed. Report them and someone might die, don't report them and tOSU has a huge stinking scandal and it's name tarnished for a decade.

Well, Tressel was a stand-up guy for most of his tenure at Youngstown and OSU. He was never involved with any sordid affairs except for the last one. I think he was put in an impossible position and the SAs are as much to blame as anybody. I don't think he had any control over the situation. Also, he was a d@mn good coach.

You're trolling, right? Sarcasm? It's hard to tell because the last sentence is true, but the rest of it seems to be based in fantasy.

Makes you wonder if the recruitment of super athletes are worth it. Pryor and Maurice bit him in the butt and cost him his job and legacy forever. He would have probably coached at the OSU until he retired.
