Everyday I look on StinGTalk for a thread that shows TStan has put his ego aside and made the right decision to send G**** C****** packing.

I’d love to be in the position of feeling optimistic about our next head coaching hire and checking for all the rumor threads about that.

Instead, it appears we’re gonna have a lame duck coach next year and fall further into the abyss of irrelevance.

as a friend put it to me Tstan is putting off the inevitable outcome for 1 year just to save $4 million. that's the putrid reality of the situation.

it's a cluster öööö of of the highest order.

Who are we going to hire if we fire CGC right now? Anyone willing to come here is a high risk type guy. Imagine having to pay the buyout for CGC plus the buyout for the next guy when we have to fire him, plus the salary of a 3rd coach. This is what handcuffed basketball for so long.

Instead you take the risk that a new OC and DC can right the ship. If that doesn’t, then you fire Collins after 2022 when the buyout is reasonable and try another high risk coach.

G**C** can hook him up with one of those Catalyst sports bra looking things.

Seriously though, this OC and DC search is going to be very difficult to land quality coaches. The only way to salvage this is to promise the guy the HC position once G**C** inevitably screws up next year.

$4M + the salary of the new coach in 2022.

All I’ve heard is that we have plenty of money. I can certainly think critically sometimes, and I understand basic economic decisions. There’s a cost to keeping this bozo as well, and some critical thought should have been given to his initial contract and hiring, but I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole.

But I can say for an absolute fact that I have no idea how much money we’ve got. Money certainly plays a role in the decision. Are you aware how much money we have?

Is this friend in the know? Am I misremembering reading articles where our big donors were saying a 3 win season is absolutely unacceptable?

So if 10,000 fans no show at Bobby Dodd next year x $50 a seat average x 8 home games. There's your 4 million. Sounds like T Stan had rather have a empty stadium than swallow his own pride and can his terrible coach to get this thing jump started so we can be better sooner rather than later and get our fans back into the stadium.
