Tuberville out at Auburn

Its also funny that they fired Tony Franklin after his offense had a rough couple games but they are more than willing to bring in Leach or CPJ as if there wouldnt be growing pains with those two.

This is pretty stupid. I'm not a Tuberville fan but the guy has done well at Auburn --the undefeated season, averaging over 8 wins a season since he's been there, 5-3 in bowl games.

I hope the program goes winless --with exception to one game-- next season.

CPJ's buyout in the first year is $750k, $500k starting his second year. Not too much more than what Auburn has to pay Tuberville ($6m) to buy him out of his contract with them.

That's all if CPJ wants to go to the barn, implement his offense again and this time be under serious heat if he loses a couple of games like Tony Franklin. I'm guessing CPJ was just mentioned by some booster at Auburn as somebody they like. It's typical ESS EEE SEE hubris to think they've got a shot.

I used to not hate Auburn at all, but Chuck Oliver and their shady boosters/AD have changed that.

Auburn is no where close to being a step up from GT. Give me a break. I am not worried about PJ leaving and neither should you.

Auburn looks like a crap job. The ONLY advantage I can see is they are in the SEC, but even that might not be as good an advantage, since the ACC looks like it might be improving dramatically.

And when they treat such a successful coach so badly, because he was FORCED into implementing a spread offense, why would ANY coach want to go there?

MONEY !!!

I still can't hate them, they were very polite when we played them, letting us almost drop our goal posts on their band. Apparently, they're bat **** insane though.

Tubs will get a pretty sweet deal somewhere. Auburn will rot. If Paul Johnson wins six in a row against UGA, I'll donate the money myself for his statue.

At that Auburn game, one of their fans told me twice to sit down. The first time I wasn't expecting it and didn't know how to respond. The second time I told him basically to go to hell, considering how rude he was being about it. This guy wasn't disabled or anything, he was just a douche.

Everyone in my section started talking **** to him after that.

Tubby resigned. He wanted out. They didn't fire him.

The new "in" thing in college football is to have the coach "resign" but still collect the buyout. They can call it whatever they want, but he was fired.

Agreed. It was the same case as Tommy Bowden at Clemson. Bowden was "fired" for about half a week before media started to call it "resigned". A resignation doesn't require Auburn to pay the buyout because it's the coach terminating the contract.

I don't understand people saying to give Paul Johnson a raise. That is ridiculous, it has been one season. One 9-3 season. Yes, it was a better season than any of us had hoped for, but it's still one season. If Paul wants to jump to Auburn if/when they offer him more money, we should let him, because that means he's another Saban type who will just screw us over in two years when Michigan offers him 6mil/year.

That being said, I don't think there's any chance of him leaving.

Tubs should go to Miss St. Then the SEC West can just be a coaching carousel.

This thing has gone full blown soap opera. Coaches wives calling in and trashing Auburn and saying "they'll probably bring a guy in who will buy players like Nick Saban." Recruiting coordinator supposedly was in a recruits house when he found out. Get your popcorn out. Alabama is about to asplode.
