Just in from a very reliable source. Sorry, can't give any names but you can believe it. Charlie Strong is interviewing today and for those of you(including myself) who want Hatcher don't get your hopes up. From what I was told, DRad isn't looking at him to hard.(experience)
 
Assuming your info is reasonably accurate, this is the reason I'm not "hitching my wagon" to any candidate. There is so much misinformation, misdirection, smoke and mirrors in any coaching search, it's difficult to sift through it all. There's no point in getting attached to a candidate that likely has no chance of getting the job anyway.

I agree and just hope the Neuheisel thing is just smoke and mirrors.
 
well for most of us it's just entertainment...b/c the vast majority of the fan base don't have an "inside" source if we are honest w/ ourselves. However if the statement about most of it being smoke and mirrors then how can anyone scratch off names from the list knowing that "we" aren't sitting in the room where the real list of candidates is actually in front of us...
I am just hopeful that regardless of who is hired that GT Football continues to move in a positive direction...But I can't help but cheer for the underdog....Hatcher
 
He's the token interview to keep the quota police off our lawn.

Lost the Peach Bowl to Miami as Interim HC after Zook was fired.

He's my personal favorite to be the next HC, but I'm cool with whomever is selected. He knows how to recruit the south. He's been on the winning side of the Cocktail Party regularly. He has a MNC ring. As many times as he's been the token minority interview, he either deserves a shot or be left the hell alone. You'd think by now that AD's would have talked enough amongst themselves to not continually string him along unless he is a fit for someone's program.

He should start charging $10,000 for a personal appearance fee at each interview.

Interesting to read this from someone else clapper. While not my top choice --the possibilities of Charlie Stong do intrigue me as he is one of my top 3-4 choices.

Totally agree; but at the same time he probably would be a good fit for our program. The right minority candidate would generate interest for the program in the Atlanta market. There are a lot of people across the southeast who would like to see Charlie Strong succeed as a HC somewhere.

Oh, I'm cheering for Hatcher too but when I tell you my source is reliable, it is. Very high up in GTAA.
 
If we hire Charlie Strong and he is successful here, not only is Rad going to look like a genius but a lot of other ADs are going to feel pretty dumb for hiring a socially acceptable white guy over the more qualified Charlie Strong.

I trust ya...Wasn't trying to discredit your source....no offense intended. Most of us are just in a "hold pattern" as we await the GOODWORD...

Well stated Clapper. This is what is so sad about the minority orgs pushing for someone to be interviewed. If the person does not have a legitimate chance of being hired then don't force him to be strung along. We must have these interviews to keep the AJC and BCA, etc off our backs.

As for Coach Strong I think he very likely is in the Top 10 or Top 5 coaches available. But that doesn't mean he is the right fit for a given school. There is a program somewhere that needs him and if will surface.
