I hope Hawaii does rip up UGA.

However, it is important to build up UGA and downplay Hawaii to keep this game in the proper perspective of being a profitable opportunity of advancement for UGA with low risk of a bad outcome (at least advancement in the direction that I want UGA to go and low risk of the opposite outcome for UGA).

(How is that for lawyer's double-talk and double-negative logic?)

sure that Ugag fans will pack the house as they always do...they'll get over this and focus on playing the tenth ranked team by tomorrow in a BCS bowl. meanwhile, for our bowl, we may have a few thousand fans at best..and we're making fun of them for 1) going to a BCS bowl and 2) thinking they'll not sellout out the game which they will vs ours which will look like a high school game played in the middle of russia in the winter???

we have bigger issues....like finding a coach. Lastly on the BCS (since we may never get there to know what its like) is not a good system. Who is to say LSU who lost last week should go to the championship game? who is to say OU shouldn't be there who just won their conference? And missouri...royally screwed...playing another coachless unranked team in Dallas after being no. 1 last week and now in the BCS pic at all? And VT? they have a legit argument to be higher for winning their conference. Osu? weaker schedule with losses and somehow backed into no. 1? USC is upset they have to play UI and are complaining about their matchup in the rose. whew..head spinning at this mess. At least this bcs stuff is something we don't have to worry or get upset about...bc we're going to Boise! ;)

We need a playoff.

that didn't win its' conference deserves. Hey! We're in a BCS bowl for the 3rd time in the last 6 years! I'm excited:biggthumpup:

I didn't see the whole bowl selection show, though. Which BCS bowl did you guys get?

Richt "announced" this on TV...I think he was sorta put on the spot b/c it's a terrible idea. HI wears black to all their games.

YEAH! :) Hey, I hate UGA and UofI is my "home" state school. The Rose Bowl is REALLY tight with the PAC-10 and Big Ten. Pretty loyal. Awesome.

Basically, UGA is the 3rd place team in the SEC. They don't deserve to be in the BCS. :)
 
They got just what they deserved. They were scared to play LSU in the Conf. Champ. and said " it's better if we don't go, then we can be in the National Championship race." Not playing cost them a chance for the National Championship, and they were penalized. Aint it great?
 
I won't say UGA got screwed, but had they played in the SEC Championship game I think they would have won, and gone onto the BCS game and been the favorite over tOSU. But they didn't, so here they are.

Just wait a few days/weeks for the AJC to start the "Hawaii could actually win this game - easy!" articles. Every single UGA opener vs. a decent team has a build up in the papers, and as a result the inevitable easy UGA win looks more impressive - case in point, Oklahoma State this year; Boise State a couple of years ago.

Exactly. It's a no-win situation for them. Which should be great entertainment for us, haha. Either they win, and we're "meh," or they lose, and we're "bwahahaha!"

I'll say we got screwed, certainly not them. We fired our coach, another crap season and crap bowl and we get "passed up" by another bowl, who are we to be talking?

"So he didn't mind when the Emerald Bowl, with the ACC's seventh bowl pick, passed on Georgia Tech in favor of Maryland, which finished a game behind the Jackets overall and in ACC play."

This is just another reason why we need to find a way to SELL OUT our games.... & with all the contraversy and NO HC GT wasn't in a good position to PULL IN THE $$$$ for the bowl...

FOR the record I don't think UGA got screwed they lost 2 games & didn't play for their conference championship...so that's what happens...you WIN big you play for the bigger games.....
But the Rose bowl shouldn't always be so predictable "loyal" to honoring the same 2 conferences playing each other when they're a BCS game...just isn't exactly a level field...
 
The next time we get 8 regular season wins, we get an east coast bowl.

The next east coast bowl we get, will be a sell out.

You're serious? I can promise you that 90%+ of UGA fans were glued to the TV hoping that Kentucky was going to make that FG to beat UT so that WE could play LSU in the Georgia Dome.

Sadly, I havent heard anybody talking about not going here. Richt called to blackout the dome, which is genius. THink about this, HI is black and a forest green color, which on tv is going to look black. So the whole stadium is going to be dark colors and ugaG is going to make it look and sound like a home game. Will HI fans even make up 1/3 of the stadium?

Heres to hoping Colt has the game of his life...600 yds passing and 6 tds! Go Warriors!
