Update on the UCF game

Why in the name of Dodd is the point spread -1 for us. It makes no sense.

Add 3 for home field, GT about 4 to 5 on a neutral field. Vegas expects a shootout.

Game still pretty doubtful to be played.

I hate to say it, but for a program like ours where depth can be an issue, cancelling isn't the worst news.

Fortunately, bowl seeding is based first on conference standings, so one less win OOC might not matter much. But if this game gets canceled, we would need to go 5-3 in conference or 4-4 and beat the gaggers just to get to 6 wins and be bowl eligible.

Let's have an open scrimmage at BDS Sat morning in place of the UCF game, then we can spend the rest of the day watching the other games and doing what we do best.
Like us? Stingtalkers?

I completely agree. The impact of this won't really be known until we know how good a team we are. If we're struggling to get to bowl eligibility, obviously this hurts. If we're pushing for a conference title, it might have paid off to get the BYE.

My thought before the season was that the Pitt and UNC games at home were the most important stretch of the season. If we can get two wins there, we are really set up nicely in the Coastal.

A bowl game is really looking out of reach.

So much for your claim of a positive outlook.

Pitt, UNC, WF, UVA, Duke - we win probably 4 of these

UGA, Clemson, Miami - we win probably 1 of these

There ya go, 6 wins. Easy peasy.
