Lindsey was fired as head coach at Troy. He was OC at Auburn for Malzhan a few years back and has a solid track record, overall. Long's offense wasn't great last year but he was a Broyles Award finalist at Notre Dame. Also a solid resume. Coaches get fired. That is the norm. Really not sure who you guys were expecting.

I don’t think CGC has ever been fired, and once upon a time I would’ve thought that was an incredibly good sign.

Now obvs I have done a 180. We should hire someone who’s been fired from every job.

A zone-read/option-read approach with a runner like Sims with a lot more accuracy, would suit me just fine. Even Gus himself would be ok.

Chip Long was an analyst at UT in 2020, so you have a bit of a Bailey connection with him.

No idea if this is true or not, but my source/friend says Chip Long is it and will be heading into the second round of interviews today. I know nothing about Long, so I don't know what to think. Anybody???

Chip Lindsey's resume looks pretty good to me

Look at his years as OC. Most years the offenses are good.

He also came up coaching at Atlanta HSs, so he both knows the area and we all can complain about his high school offenses

Coached Hutson Mason into an all-world HS QB before he became trash at UGA.
Although, we loved Hutson around here
