Why is everyone crying about the passing game? We are a RUSHIN OFFENSE. Our problem in losses is almost always defense.

The offense will score plenty on USF. We win if it's not a shootout.

Incorrect. We burn teams with TOP by rushing with a TO that can also throw. We decimated defenses with plays by receivers like bay bay and smelter that kept teams on their heels to support our rushing offense.
Best thing I saw on Saturday was CPJ making TQM throw more in the second half. Saturday was the first and second time I saw TQM scramble under pressure and then not run, but pause and look again down field and hit a wide open receiver.
Our defensive fellas were terrific this week. Keeping the other guys off the field with shutdowns, turnovers etc =more TOP for TQM.
You are correct about our defense being key vs. USF - their QB brings some hurt. Woody's crew has a test this week. Let's get it.

From what I have found on there boards we only won 5 games last year so we wont boat race the bulls lol I guess having a good record with the ESPN 102 ranked schedule in 2017 is something to be proud of. Make no mistake last year was shitty..... top 10 schedule or not we could and should have won at minimum 7 games but we fell apart late in games and shit just happens sometimes. Well too bad for USf they didn't catch us last year because this years squad will be a lot closer to our 2014 #7 ranked Orange Bowl squad than the shit show we witnessed last year. Also side note I love that this thread is on their board already lol I guess when your schedule is loaded with Elon, Illinois, ECU, Tulsa, Uconn etc you get excited to take a crack at a team that's biggest win wasn't in the holiday bowl 6 years ago

A Russian Offense?

For a rushing offense to be truly effective you need to be able to keep the D honest with the pass. That means hitting wide open receivers and giving WRs in single coverage a chance at the ball.

We had smelter and a 6 foot 4 Darren Waller in 2014. Jesus

Elon ran for 192 yards at 3.9 per attempt on USF... and won TOP.

Charlie Strong hasn't played an option team since before he coached at Louisville, if ever, and their DC, Brian Jean-Mary hasn't seen an option team since 2009 when he coached our LBs.

They probably spent the whole off-season preparing for us.

Licks lips. Salivates heavily

You know they say that all teams are created equal, but you look at this offense, you look at our defense and you can see that statement just isn’t true. Two separate studies from the Georgia Tech Research institute and ParkAtlanta independently found that in a normal game, any team has a 50/50 chance of winning.
Factor in that we have an offensive genius and the team's production metrics are above average. Statistically, USF has a 25% chance, at best, to beat us. Factor in Coach Woody and USF's chance of winning decrease to 12.5%

So, the data scientists took their 12.5% chance, deducted our 75% chance of winning, resulting in USF's negative 62.5% chance of winning. They compiled our 75% chance of winning with our extra 50% chance of winning and they found we have a 137.50 % chance of winning. Listen up, you Jimmy Buffett wannabe nibbling on sponge cake, getting half baked, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you in 2018. Go öööö yourself with a blown out flip flop. You are the fanbase to blame. Why don't you get drunk and öööö yourself?

Geeez WYsayBud, That first paragraph is some heavy stuff, but you're right in your final conclusion. GT will beat USF!

My god the peeps down here think they are going to roll this weekend. I hope we drop 70 on these bastards.

USF is one of the most arrogant teams in Florida. I don't know if GT can put up 70 points on them, I hope so, but I can see GT beating USF by 24 - 28 points.

Their local chapter here offered us to cancel the GT watch party to join theirs. They didn't even have a watch party last week. This game definitely moved up couple notches for me.

I agree, when the opponents defense loads the box it forces the T-Option team to run the QB keeper/ pitch to the outside- or counter option. It takes away or highly hinders the Full Back to a high extent.

When a T-option team has a ligament passing threat, it puts the opponent’s defense back on its heels and they tend to go back to a 7-man front which opens up the full back attack again.

Weather it’s streak routs by the wide outs, involving the A- backs or even swing passes to the full back or up the middle , the opponents defense must be afraid of getting ripped by a small but effective passing attack.

I remember the Nesbitt days a bit differently than some. Arguably our two biggest wins with him as starter were UGA in '08 and VT in '09. We didn't win either of those games because we had a credible passing threat. He went a combined 2/13 for 70 yards and 2 INTs in those games.
